We were lucky to catch up with Bellissimas Bridal recently and have shared our conversation below.
Bellissimas Bridal, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
We’re still very new to the industry, having opened in November of 2022, so we’re just starting to see the trends for 2023 and even what’s upcoming expected for 2024 seasons. For both bridal and Quinceañera gowns, we’re seeing the prominence of sheer bodices with exposed corset boning, which gives you the great detail of the corset style. For the quince dresses, all typically come with a liner in the color of the gown to add comfort to the quince (and their parents).
We’ve also seen both quince and bridal, along with different prom and formal gown styles including 3D floral pattern but based on customer feedback and the turn of certain designs we may be seeing more sparkle and embroidered flower designs over the 3D aspect in the next year. Fashion trends move so quickly so who knows what we might see this time next year!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I manage the business with my mother in law and how we got into it becomes this crazy story of being in the right place at the right time. We got talking to an owner of a quince boutique from Chula Vista who was moving and was looking for someone to take over the business. It seemed like a blur between that conversation and our grand opening, but we couldn’t imagine not doing it now.
We offer Quinceañera, Bridal and formal gowns, tuxedo rentals, baptism clothes, crowns and accessories.
Our favorite part of when a customer comes in is making sure we make them feel like they’re getting exactly the dress they want with no regrets. We encourage our customers to take photos and try on different styles until they get the dress of their dreams.
We really just want customers to know they can come in and be honest, comfortable, and know that we’re a honest and judgement free place to make this big decision for their big day.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Seems like common sense, but just being friendly and personable to our customers is what seems to be our greatest feedback. We don’t want to pressure anyone, but we definitely want to see people leaving with a gown that makes them happy. We always want people to leave feeling like they’ve just been hanging out with friends. Encouragement and listening goes a long way.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Just persistent posting and knowing what will grab attention. Said it before, but we are still so new to the game that we’re just working to make our presence known where we can. Instagram, tiktok, and Facebook seem to be the best places, but we’re slowly growing our media presence on YouTube, Pinterest, and even getting sales on Poshmark. Our advice is just get your business known where you can, and just keep consistent!
