We were lucky to catch up with BELLE recently and have shared our conversation below.

BELLE, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

The most meaningful project that I have worked on and that I am currently working on is the development of my artist project as BELLE. Initially I started releasing pop music, 3 singles which had very positive results, online recognition as well as features in radio stations in the US as well as Europe. While working in that area, I also started learning how to DJ and I immediately fell in love with it and soon, the project became solely focused on electronic music. I started posting DJ sets on YouTube which have gathered a large number of views as well as subscribers, creating a solid fan base. I DJ-ed at some of the biggest EDM festivals in Romania as well as parties. I am releasing music, being a singer-songwriter and producer has allowed me to fully explore the creative process of being an artist. Having a team of incredibly creative and supportive people is really helpful to me in this journey. I continue working every single day in order to achieve my dreams because this is my calling and what I want to do for the rest of my life.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is BELLE, I am 19 years old and I am a DJ artist, singer-songwriter and producer. My journey with music has begun from a very early age. At the age of 7, I started taking piano lessons and at 8, singing lessons. At 10, I began working in the theater and I had wonderful opportunities of working with experienced directors and actors from Romania. At 15, I wanted to combine all my passions and started doing musicals. All these steps were absolutely essential for me in the development of my artistry. At the age of 17, I started focusing on my artist project as BELLE, initially pop oriented music and then at 18, I fully shifted towards electronic music, DJ-ing and releasing music. I believe what sets me apart is my creative work, being a singer-songwriter and producer has truly allowed me to create a personal connection with my music and my audience. I have also developed my own DJ-ing style and technique, also combining multiple electronic music genres in a set in order to create a variety of emotions. And overall, my visual identity as an artist, I always try to expand creatively, in all areas of artistic identity, I am very energetic while DJ-ing pouring my heart into each performance and I truly hope that the audience connects with that.
I am truly proud of the amount of work that I put into this project. I always try to improve and work on my craft. I am proud of my achievements so far, having a growing fan base as well as DJ-ing at large EDM festivals in Romania.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

For me, the most rewarding part of being an artist is having people connect with your work. One of my main goals as an artist is to make people connect with my music, they might want to forget their problems and just have fun and dance or they want to feel understood and in my music and DJ sets I try to provide either of those emotions as much as I can. Music is medicine and music can heal and with my creative work, I have learned that while healing yourself, you also heal others which is something that I believe is truly special and beautiful, making music timeless. Therefore, the most rewarding part of my work is having people come up to me or comment on social media that they feel that they felt connected with my music.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My driving mission and goal is for my music to reach as many people as possible, creating a sense of connection. I want to make music that is timeless. My dream is to DJ at EDM festivals all around the world and share my music.
