Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Beleenne Dickerson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Beleenne thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When you were first starting out, did you join a firm or start your own?
I started with a firm as a solo agent, when I became a Real Estate Broker in July 2018. At the time, I was driven by a strong desire for independence and the freedom to shape my own path. I had a clear vision of the kind of work I wanted to do and all the clients I wanted to serve, and starting solo felt like the best way to stay true to that. I worked in the corporate world for years prior to staying home after becoming a mom. I knew that I wasn’t my best staying home and wanted to get back in the work force. But, I wanted to do things on my own term.
A few years in, I reached a point where I wanted to be part of something bigger. I realized that collaboration, shared goals, and being surrounded by people who pushed me to grow could take things even further. That’s when I decided to join a team. It wasn’t a decision made lightly, but it was the right one.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change the path I took. Starting solo gave me a deep sense of ownership and clarity. And joining a team later brought a new layer of perspective, support, and synergy that’s helped me evolve both professionally and personally.
The early days were intense—every decision, every challenge, every small win rested on my shoulders. I had to wear every hat: operations, marketing, content creator. It was exhilarating, but also humbling. There were moments of doubt, but also a lot of growth. I learned fast and learned a lot.

Beleenne , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m originally from Haiti and moved to the United States 25 years ago, during high school. That journey has shaped every part of who I am today—resilient, hardworking, and determined to succeed. I went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Business from Meredith College and spent several years building a career in diverse industry. That experience gave me a strong foundation in business in general, strategy, and client service—skills that I now bring into my real estate business every single day.
Real estate became a natural transition for me because it combines my business background with my passion for helping people. There is something truly rewarding about being part of one of the most important decisions in someone’s life—whether it’s buying their first home, selling a longtime property, or investing for the future. I don’t take that responsibility lightly.
I am incredibly detail-oriented and committed to doing things the right way. My work ethic is one of my strongest assets—I show up, I follow through, and I advocate fiercely for my clients. Over the years, I’ve become a strong communicator and a skilled negotiator. Those qualities, along with my financial background, allow me to guide my clients with confidence and precision.
What sets me apart in this industry is my integrity. I’m a very genuine person, and I treat every transaction as if it were my own. I believe in doing the right thing, even when no one’s looking. I don’t chase numbers—I focus on building relationships. My clients know they can trust me to be honest, transparent, patient, and always have their best interest at heart.
I’m also extremely proud of how much I’ve grown personally. As someone who’s naturally shy and very introverted, putting myself out there hasn’t always been easy. But I do it because I truly love this work, and I know I bring real value to the table. Seeing my clients happy, supported, and successful—that’s what keeps me going.
To anyone considering working with me: I want you to know that I’m here for you—not just as a real estate agent, but as a partner, an advocate, and someone who truly cares. Whether you’re buying, selling, or investing, I bring a calm, steady, and expert approach to guide you every step of the way.
This work is so much more than a job to me—it’s a calling. Helping people find home, build wealth, and create stability is incredibly fulfilling. And I’m honored to be a part of that journey with each and every client.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been a combination of consistency, determination, staying focused, and always promoting myself—no matter where I am or who I’m with. Real estate is a relationship-driven business, and I’ve learned that people work with those they trust and feel connected to. So I make it a priority to consistently show up—online and in person—as the same dedicated, hardworking, and professional version of myself.
I don’t rely on quick wins or shortcuts. Instead, I stay focused on the long game. I’m always planting seeds—whether it’s through social media, networking events, open houses, referrals, or just having genuine conversations in everyday settings. I make sure people know what I do, how I can help, and most importantly, that I care about their goals.
Promoting myself hasn’t always come naturally, especially as someone who is introverted and shy by nature. But I’ve pushed past that because I believe in what I offer, and I know that staying visible is key. I lead with integrity. I don’t just talk about what I do—I back it up with results, professionalism, and a strong work ethic. When clients have a great experience, they refer others. That’s how I’ve built a steady, growing base of loyal clients: one relationship at a time, with consistency and care.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I started this journey after spending two years out of the workforce to be a stay-at-home mom. Coming into a completely different industry was scary. I had the business knowledge, but real estate required a completely different level of visibility, self-promotion, and putting myself out there.
When I first started, I didn’t have a big network or years of industry connections. I had to build everything from the ground up. I remember attending networking events where I barely knew anyone, and pushing myself to introduce myself, and talk about what I do. It was scary, but I knew that staying in my comfort zone wasn’t going to move me forward. So I kept showing up.
There were many times when deals fell through, clients changed their minds at the last minute, or leads went cold. It would’ve been easy to get discouraged. But I reminded myself that I’ve already overcome bigger life challenges—like moving from Haiti as a teenager and starting over in a new country. That experience taught me how to stay focused, keep going, and never give up.
So I doubled down on consistency. I stayed visible, kept learning, kept promoting myself, and remained committed to my goals—even when the results weren’t immediate. And slowly but surely, things started to shift. Clients came. Referrals followed. My confidence grew. And today, I’m proud to say that I’ve built a business grounded in hard work, integrity, and persistence.
