We recently connected with Bee Bleu and have shared our conversation below.
Bee, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Pretty Girl Cup was born during one of the most difficult seasons of my life. After becoming a mother, I struggled with postpartum depression and found myself feeling lost, overwhelmed, and disconnected from the person I used to be. I was spending so much time caring for everyone else that I had forgotten what it felt like to do something for myself.
During that time, I needed an outlet, something creative that could help me reconnect with who I was outside of motherhood. What started as a small creative project quickly became something much bigger. Designing and creating gave me a sense of purpose, accomplishment, and joy during a season when those feelings felt hard to find.
As I began sharing my creations with others, I realized I wasn’t alone. So many people were looking for little moments of happiness in their everyday lives. A custom cup may seem like a simple thing, but I saw how much people loved receiving something that reflected their personality, interests, and story. It wasn’t just about the product; it was about how it made them feel.
That’s when I realized Pretty Girl Cup could be more than a hobby. It could be a business built around helping people celebrate themselves and the things they love. The idea of creating products that bring a little extra joy to someone’s day was something I genuinely believed in because I had experienced firsthand how powerful small moments of happiness can be.
I wasn’t necessarily solving a problem that no one else had identified. Many companies sell drinkware and gifts. What felt different was the heart behind it. Pretty Girl Cup was built from a place of healing, creativity, and connection. I wanted to create products that felt personal and meaningful, while building a community that encouraged people to embrace what makes them happy.
What excited me most was the possibility of turning something that helped me heal into something that could bring joy to others. Looking back, Pretty Girl Cup represents so much more than a business. It represents resilience, growth, and finding light during a season that felt incredibly dark. Every step of the journey reminds me how powerful creativity can be and how sometimes the most meaningful businesses are born from our most challenging experiences.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
My name is Bee Bleu, and I’m the founder and creative director behind Pretty Girl Cup. What started as a creative outlet during one of the most challenging seasons of my life has grown into a business dedicated to helping people find joy in the everyday.
I launched Pretty Girl Cup about two years ago after experiencing postpartum depression. During that time, I felt disconnected from myself and struggled to find pieces of the person I was before motherhood. Creating became a form of healing for me. Designing products gave me a sense of purpose, creativity, and accomplishment when I needed it most. What began as a way to cope eventually became a passion, and that passion grew into a business.
Pretty Girl Cup specializes in custom drinkware, personalized gifts, and thoughtfully designed products that help people celebrate the things they love. While custom cups remain at the heart of the business, my vision has always been bigger than a single product. I love creating items that help people express their personalities, embrace their interests, and romanticize everyday life.
What sets my brand apart is the personal connection behind everything I create. As a small business owner, I’m involved in every step of the process, from designing products to packing orders and connecting with customers. I genuinely care about creating items that feel meaningful rather than mass-produced.
I don’t believe my products are just about drinkware or gifts. They’re about helping people celebrate who they are. Whether it’s a book lover finding their new favorite cup, a customer ordering a personalized gift, or someone treating themselves to something special, I love creating products that bring a little extra joy into everyday moments.
What I’m most proud of is building a business during a season when I was rebuilding myself. Entrepreneurship has challenged me in ways I never expected, but it has also shown me how resilient and capable I am. In just two years, I’ve been able to grow a brand from an idea born during a difficult chapter of my life into something that connects with people across the country.
The biggest thing I want people to know about Pretty Girl Cup is that it’s rooted in authenticity. This business was built from a desire to create joy, connection, and beauty in everyday life. Every order represents a real person who chose to support a dream, and I’ll never take that for granted.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best sources of new clients for my business have been a combination of social media and local vendor markets. Social media has allowed me to showcase my products and connect with customers beyond my local area. At the same time, vendor events have allowed me to meet people face-to-face and build genuine relationships.
There’s something special about seeing someone interact with your products in person. At vendor markets, customers can pick up a cup, ask questions, share their interests, and tell me exactly what they’re looking for. Those conversations have not only led to sales but have also helped me better understand my customers and the types of products they want to see.
Many of my repeat customers first discovered Pretty Girl Cup at a local market and then continued to follow and support the business online. That combination of in-person connection and social media engagement has been incredibly valuable for growth.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the biggest lessons in resilience came from building Pretty Girl Cup while navigating some of the most significant changes of my adult life.
When I started the business, I had no roadmap and no guarantee that it would succeed. Like many entrepreneurs, I learned through trial and error, figuring things out one step at a time.
There were moments when I questioned myself, times when sales were slow, events that didn’t go as planned, and plenty of opportunities to give up. As a small business owner, I’ve worn every hat imaginable, from designer and photographer to marketer, customer service representative, and shipping department.
What I’m most proud of is that I kept showing up. Even when growth felt slow, even when I didn’t have all the answers, and even when life outside of my business was challenging.
Resilience isn’t always about making a huge comeback. Sometimes it’s simply about continuing to move forward. Pretty Girl Cup exists today because I chose not to quit, and that journey has shown me that growth often comes from the moments that challenge us the most.
