We recently connected with BECX and have shared our conversation below.

Hi BECX, thanks for joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?

Yes, I wish I started my journey earlier. I started focusing on my music career when I was 17 years old. Prior to that, it was just something I loved. I feel like if I knew earlier what I know now, I would have focused on learning what I wanted my sound to be and learning the overall process of how I wanted to make my music.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I have always admired music, from singing in the children’s choir in my early years, to the women’s chorus in Dallas, where I was the youngest member they had ever accepted. During my time with the Women’s Chorus, I really found my passion for singing. Once that passion was ignited, that’s when I started on my songwriting journey. One of the things I am the most proud of is my debut single Not Alone. It’s the first song that I had the feeling in my core that people should hear it. When I wrote Not Alone I wrote it as a song I needed to hear and knew if I needed to hear it someone else needed it too. As I continued to write more songs, I became interested in the producing side of music. For the last year or so, I have been learning how to produce my music. So far, it has helped me really focus on the sound I’m trying create. I’m looking forward to continuing to add more aspects of music production to my repertoire.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

Having creative freedom on my album covers, music videos, and sound. Also, all of the other artists and creatives I have been able to meet along the way, I am so thankful for them.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My goal is to be someone’s safe place whether that’s having someone relate to my song or having people connect with me or with others.
