We were lucky to catch up with Becky McKiddy-Gydesen recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Becky, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Being the owner of the Tucson Ghost Company, I have done a lot of research about the history and haunts of Tucson and surrounding areas. Learning about our history and coming care about the communities past and present.
Also being a paranormal investigator I have had the opportunity to help people within the community
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Born and raised in a haunted house and later living in a haunted apartment, my passion for the paranormal started taking shape.
In 2013 I happened to go on a ghost hunt that ended with me starting my own ghost tour. The Tucson Ghost Company was born; starting with a simple tour it expanded into ghost hunts, special events, a podcast, and even a nonprofit paranormal team.
We now run Tucson’s Haunted History Tour (which is the original Tucson ghost tour but more personalized), Monday Boos (which is a ghost hunt on select Monday nights), Haunts of the Undertaker (ghost hunt in Tombstone at the Undertakers Espresso Bar), Haunted Arcade (ghost hunt in Tombstone at the Hotel Tombstone), and special events at different locations.
We also have the Tucson Ghost Society, which is a nonprofit scientific paranormal team that conducts free investigations for concerned clients and also had the Ghost Connection which is a group that does monthly gatherings.
The podcast is called Everything Under the Moon to where our focus is on the paranormal but we discuss everything.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My journey hasn’t been an easy one but I stay determined because I want people to truly understand the paranormal and to be respectful to our history and spirits.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding things about my company and team is being able to help others and to be able to share the history of our community.
