How All Hearts Inc. Became Seattle’s Ultimate Heart-Filled Gift Shop

Q: How did you come up with this idea?

Honestly, the heart has been my thing forever! Growing up, there was just something about the heart shape—it was comforting, cheerful, and always made me smile. Whether doodling little hearts on notebooks or finding heart-shaped trinkets, it felt like a symbol of warmth and happiness.

So, when I was dreaming up a business, the idea of All Hearts Inc. came naturally. I thought, ‘Why not bring a fresh, playful take on hearts to the retail world?’ Hearts mean so many different things to people—love, kindness, humor, a little sass—and I wanted to celebrate all of that! I wanted a place where anyone could find the perfect heart item, whether it’s sweet, funny, or even a bit snarky.

Since opening on February 14th, 2022, it’s been amazing to see how people of all ages react when they step into the shop and realize it’s entirely dedicated to hearts. Their smiles, their excitement—it warms my heart, truly. Every piece I offer, from jewelry to pet items, stationery, accessories, and more, is chosen with love, so my customers feel that joy, too.

And now, I’m even more excited to have added a new feature: the Charm Bar! With over 350 charms to choose from, it’s a chance for customers to ‘show off what’s in their heart’ and create something uniquely their own. Each piece is finished with a heart-shaped clasp, making it not only personal but a little love token to carry wherever they go.

Seeing people express their love and appreciation with a thoughtful heart-shaped gift means the world to me. That’s really what All Hearts Inc. is all about: spreading a little more love, one heart at a time!

Welcome to All Hearts Inc.! We’re not just any gift shop—we’re Seattle’s ultimate destination for all things heart-shaped and heart-inspired. If it’s got a heart on it, we’re probably carrying it! From home decor that warms up any space to jewelry, stationery, accessories, pet gear, and bags, we’ve packed our shop with items that celebrate love in every way imaginable.

And the newest addition to our lineup? The Charm Bar! Every chain features a unique heart-shaped clasp, so you can show off what’s in your heart. With over 300 different charms—from hearts, animals, and flowers to letters, numbers, and even space-themed charms—there’s a little something for everyone to create their perfect charm combination.

We launched our online store on Valentine’s Day 2022, and it wasn’t long before we began popping up all around the Seattle area. Now, you can find us every Sunday at the iconic Fremont Sunday Market, where our heart-filled corner spreads love and positivity each week.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

The biggest lesson I had to unlearn was thinking I had to be a one-person powerhouse, doing everything myself and being a pro at every part of my business—customer service, web design, accounting, you name it. That mindset made starting feel like climbing a mountain without a map! I was always waiting to feel “ready” because there was so much I didn’t know.

But here’s what I found out when I finally took the plunge: you don’t have to do it all alone, and you don’t have to be perfect at every little thing. You’ll meet amazing people along the way who are more than willing to help or connect you with someone who can. All you really need to do is start, dive in headfirst, and tackle things as they come. You don’t need to have it all figured out—you just need to begin. If I can do it, you totally can too!

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

Getting the initial capital to start my business was definitely a journey! First, I had to work hard to get my credit in order. With the help of some amazing friends who taught me the ins and outs of budgeting and taking control of my finances, I built up my credit to a place where I felt confident enough to invest. I started with about $1,500 for supplies to kick off my pop-up events and another $1,000 for inventory to test the concept.

From there, things started to take shape! Once I saw the potential, I put together a business plan and went to my credit union, which helped me secure additional funding to expand my inventory. It was a step-by-step process, but each step taught me that with a little creativity and a lot of determination, you really can make it happen!
