We recently connected with Becca Pressley and have shared our conversation below.
Becca, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
Everything about the industry that I am in revolves around trends. From the design and color palette, to even the flow and timeline of the entire day, weddings revolve around trends. And it’s my job to determine those trends, tweak, refine, adapt, and add sparkle to make them “timeless”. Is anything really timeless in the world we are in, of constant change and new ideas? I believe that itself is the biggest trend we are seeing in the wedding industry, timelessness. More than ever, people want a wedding focused on and rooted in their love and joy for one another. Traditional rules are being broken left and right, replaced with individualism and just FUN things that make each couple unique. Almost every couple that I work with just wants “classy and timeless” as they love to say, but the best way to be timeless is to just let yourself shine through your design on your wedding day. It reminds me of a wedding I coordinated back in May that was so much fun, purely because the couple chose to not be distracted by the “perfectness” of the day and instead spent the day truly celebrating with the ones they love most on this earth.
Tracking with the theme of individualism and a true celebration of love, fun, and creativity, color is going to continue to be a big trend coming up for 2024. People are starting to be less scared of the bright and bold colors that they love. Of course white will never go out of style as it is the essence of “bridal”, but colors are beginning to pop up in a way that they haven’t in awhile. I think of the funky creativity of the 70s and 80s as I see these “old school” patterns, colors, fonts, and design choices making their way into the wedding world once again.
There are so many opportunities with these upcoming trends, because they uniquely express each couple in a different way, and I don’t think that is ever something they will “regret”. Looking back on your wedding day and seeing something that wasn’t just popular at the time or somebody told you it was “the wedding color of the year” will make it timeless to you, and with our ever changing world that’s just about the best you can do.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Becca and I am the owner of Wildflower Events, a wedding planning and coordination company, and I offer assistance to couples in planning their weddings! This looks different for each couple I work with, as I have a range of services to fit them and their needs. Whether you are a total DIY bride, or you need me from the moment you get engaged, I will be there, ready and super thrilled to work with you! I work one-on-one with the bride (or couple) to understand and establish a vision and design for their wedding day, and then we collaborate together to get all the vendors booked, decorations ordered, color palette picked out, etc. I then have the honor to create their wedding timeline with them, layout, flow of the day, and everything, and then I am there all day on the wedding day to help it all come to life!
This is so much more than a job/business to me, it’s a chance to create lasting relationships and celebrate beautiful love together. Your wedding day can be such a monumental day in your life, and I am so honored that my amazing clients trust me to create and execute their vision with them. I am most proud of the relationships I have made, everything else is beautiful and fun and creative, but those relationships are what last and they are what life is about!
I hope that everyone around me knows that I will forever be your biggest cheerleader and your “built-in bestie” before, during, and after your wedding day. Wildflower Events is a business rooted in faith and in love, as 1 Corinthians 16:14 says best, “Let all that you do be done in love”. That is what this business and this industry is all about.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Social Media is absolutely huge for my business and I definitely see the majority of my clients through it! I’ve noticed myself using social media as well when I am looking for specific vendors, it often times shows way more of the business than you could find on Google or a wedding website! When clients and vendors tag one another on social media it truly makes a world of difference to help spread recognition, so that’s why wedding vendors are always asking for that tag!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Definitely still working on this one, as my company continues to grow and “prove itself” in some ways, but the biggest thing that I see so far in myself and in others in this industry is consistency and genuineness. Consistency shows knowledge and experience, while genuineness shows how you love and care for everyone you work with. There’s something incredibly valuable about seeing the real person behind the business.
