We recently connected with Becca LaMar and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Becca, thanks for joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?

With so many industries and small-businesses working from home, we found that the need for space was a must. Since opening our doors in May 2022, we are seeing more and more collaboration and people wanting to be in community. Many business owners are working together with other businesses to create spaces to support so many different clients; entrepreneurs, moms, women, and even the public. For example, we saw a need to support local product based businesses who function (for the most part) our of their homes. We took this need, and planned a pop-up event that we now host 3 times a year – A Neue Market. It’s a one-day market where the community can come and support their favorite vendors, and learn more about the people behind the brands. Overall, a need to community and collaboration has been at the forefront of the small-business industry and we are so excited to see how it continues to evolve!

Becca, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

In 2021, I left my corporate job to pursue my Branding and Web Design business (Heylo Creative). One thing that really helped me stand out was getting in the room with other businesses, and learning about the people, brands, products and services that they provide. It wasn’t long into this journey that I repeatedly heard the same phrase from people – “I wish I had my own space”. A space to meet clients, a space to pop-up, a space to co-create, a space to look more professional to their audience, a space to take photos, a space to celebrate – a space for literally ANYTHING. We took this idea and RAN to create what is now Studio Neue. We have landed on the phrase “Blank-Canvas Space” because that really encompasses what it is – a space to connect. A space to create. A space for community. A space to support small business, and the local in community.

We offer the rental of space for anywhere from one hour to one day, or multiple days. Perfect for photographers, meetings, off-site team building, baby showers, weddings, workshops – the sky is really the limit.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Happy to share! The main initial focus was to create a brand identity that really showcased the environment and experience that the customer would see on all of the visual platforms – social, website, etc. Luckily, as a branding designer, I was able to really work through the brand foundation that I dreamed of.

Afterwards, our main focus was consistency in posting, and sharing our journey through the buildout of the space from concrete walls to completion. Bringing people along on the journey with you makes them feel like they are part of the process – and we truly have become so close with the people that have followed along since day 1.

We continue to focus on our community by engaging with them whenever and wherever we can. We like to share the work and events of the people that rent with us and showing what others are doing in the space in hopes that it sparks some inspiration for what the viewer could also build in our space.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

I think what has helped us the most has been being open to listening to our clients, and constantly refining our process. We are always looking for new ways to make things better, easier, and more stream-line. From the actual space, to the website, to the process in which we community, we constantly look for ways to be better.

We also really aim to connect with our clients because just like them – we are human. We get that life happens, that the events hosted at Studio Neue are important, and that a lot of times, people just want clear communication.
