Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Beatrice Filippini. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Beatrice, appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
My name is Beatrice, and my dad always called me Beba. I started as a craftsman opening my workshop Atelier Orafo. But then I decided to create my own brand and I decided to call it Beba, and Gioielli that stands for jewels in Italian.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Beba Gioielli is an Italian brand totally handcrafted in Florence, following the craftsmen traditions in the design and the realisation of our collections. Beba creates pieces to make her costumers feel connected to every design.
Beba started as a craftsman, but in 2000 she decided to start her own jewellery brand. Since then, she’s started to expand herself in different countries, mainly in Europe, America and Asia, doing lots of worldwide exhibitions.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Beba has lots of experience in the jewellery field. She went to Florence’s craftsman school and she started working as an apprentice with gold, silver and precious stones when she was 18 years old. Almost 30 years ago, she decided to open her own shop in the centre of Florence: Atelier Orafo. Then, she founded her own jewellery brand, Beba Gioielli, still realising her pieces keeping in mind the craftsman traditions.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Covid-19 was a really difficult time for small businesses. Beba decided to open her website to make people enjoy their time at home. She always says that buying jewels make people happy!
