We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bayan Kabbani. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bayan below.
Bayan, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I’m currently managing my own social media account, but I might think about bringing on a social media team eventually. I enjoy sharing content that I believe is meaningful and relevant to my clients. When it comes to interacting with other businesses, I value transparency and authenticity, so I make sure to post my own content and material. I also create my content and reels with my own camera or drone!

Bayan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve always had a love for entrepreneurship, ever since I was a kid. When I was around 11 years old, I started finding creative ways to earn money. I sold ice-cold lemonade during the scorching summer months, detailed cars on weekends, washed windows, mowed lawns, collected and sold shoes, and yes, even sold Pokémon cards (yeah, I know, I’m feeling old too)…
At 15, I started a holiday lighting business with my brothers. It was just a side gig while I was still in high school, but oh boy, did we make a lot of mistakes and learn a ton in a short period.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications, I worked in New York for Viacom, CNBC, and Fox News as a Production Assistant. But the fast-paced city life wasn’t it for me, so I moved back to LA and poured my heart into growing and refining my holiday light and photography companies. That’s where I really got to grips with all the ins and outs of running a real business.
We began by decorating local residential properties in the beach cities and eventually landed big-name residential and commercial clients.
Loving what you do and staying consistent are the keys to success in any line of work.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Getting new clientele can be a struggle when starting a business as I’ve seen from others. There is no secret formula for expanding and adding more clients to your business. I simply do right by the client and offer a quality service with gratitude and transparency. I don’t offer anything that I don’t feel confident in as far as quality, delivery, or performance.
I have seen many companies that sell a product or service that on paper looks and sounds great but when it’s delivered and time to pay up; it’s hardly what I was told it would be or imagined. So I took what I didn’t like about other companies and fixed it to siimply give customers something that is beyond their expectations.
I love the look on their faces because it shows that they are happy with the service we give them!

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
It is crucial for businesses to maintain a good relationship with their clients. Repeat customers are valuable assets. While I cannot control certain factors, I can foster our client-business relationship between appointments. I do this by sending out personalized emails with engaging and relevant content, company updates, holiday and birthday greetings, and periodically checking in with them. I don’t like getting automated emails from companies because it’s disingenuous, so I ensure that the content and messages sent to my clients are personalized. I believe it is essential to stay connected with clients, not just when they are making purchases. They are more than just a client, they are part of the business family that we have and continue to grow with us.
