Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bassel Bahhur. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Bassel , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?
My first client was actually a very good friend and regular investor client. He probably assumed it was just another day at the office for me, when in fact we were making HomePoints historical first transaction. This was very special to me. We actually have a painting of this property framed in our office in North Olmsted.
Bassel , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
So I got in the real estate business in 2005 to help my family with their investments. I always held a full time job and didn’t think I could ever turn this into a full time career let alone a business. In 2020 I started HomePoint Real Estate & left my full time job to build my company.
This was not an easy journey and I am extremely proud of how far we’ve come in just 3 years. I knew that if I wanted to get to my goal I would have to sacrifice a lot. I worked both jobs, 7 days a week from 6:30am until midnight most days. Missed many events & functions, or would leave functions early to get back to work! I couldn’t have done this without the patience and support of my amazing wife!!
I think one of the key factors to our success is to continue to see the company as a start up. I never get comfortable. It keeps me hungry and we continue to challenge ourselves to advance to the next level.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
As I tell my team, social media is everything!! I could not have grown so quickly without the help of social media. It’s free and you can reach as many people as you’d like.
I studied the social media use of the others in my business. I focused on what content they were providing, see if people were engaged or not & I took my own approach. I starting finding daily posts, then creating weekly segments of a specific topic & when the sales started coming in I would share my sales activity.
Now I see many other new agents in my market who follow me on social media doing the same by mimicking my content & I’m happy to see it’s working out for them as well.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I pride myself on being extra patient and honest in my work. In this competitive market It’s very common to have clients spend many months or even years searching for the right home and it’s easy for them to become impatient. I voice my honest opinions and trust that they’re making the best decision for their family.
