We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Basha Hill. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Basha below.
Hi Basha, thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I always loved to dressed but as I got older I loved being comfortable but cute at the same time. So I thought created just that. I love a sweatsuit that you can dress up and dress down. Imagine going to pick up the kids from school but have a pair of pumps in your trunk that you can switch into for happy hour with the girls. That edge look, where you can swerve a look while being comfortable. I love to refer it to a all purpose look because you can do so much with it

Basha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The fashion industry is a very competitive field. You have to stay creative, stay ahead, think outside the box , but most importantly stay consistent. Consistency always beats talent because someone with a lot of talent that’s not consistent won’t go as far as somebody who stays consistent. As somebody in the field and just being transparent I feel like I could have went and been alot farther if I was consistency. Going forward I see what needs to be done. However, in order to do that it’s been a lot of trial and error. For example, I started off going to get sweatsuits from New York. Now although my clients loved my work the quality wasn’t up to my liking. The sweatsuits would shrink in the dryer and I didn’t like the lint balls that appeared once washed. Now although I wanted each sweatsuit to be different and I was doing it by hand I wanted to a certain target group that I couldn’t reach with that product. Now this is the part where you have to take a step back ,rebrand ,and see what you need to do in order to reach that goal you want. So now I’m in the process of rebranding, getting the quality sweatsuits I want, creating a better turn around time for my clients, and create a better product all around

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn is don’t share your ideas. I know it’s sounds like but I want to know people’s feedback but whatever thoughts and/or ideas you were blessed with do it. Don’t doubt yourself. Whatever you do just put your best foot forward. Understand everybody won’t like everything you do but just focus on the people that do. So if you have an idea work on it manifest it and bring it to life.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
A time when I had to pivot in business was recently actually. I didn’t like anything about the direction in which I was going. I have a vision for my business and how I want it ran down to the name. I just feel like it’s nothing wrong with change as long as you stay consistent and have a clear vision on how you want your business to go
