We recently connected with Barbara Charles and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Barbara, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
The legacy that I am hoping to build is to show people that no matter what adversity you face in life, keep going. Never give up on yourself, the people who show up for you and always put God first. People will say that I was a kind, loving and giving person. That I show up for the people I love and care about. That no matter what situation I faced I never gave up on myself. That I always was myself and stayed true to that. That I was very resilient. I hope to be remembered for a woman who always talked about and gloried God. That because of him I have the kind of heart that I do. A person that was very kind, helpful, loving, giving and diverse. A natural humanitarian.

Barbara, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello, my name is Barbara Charles born & raised in the sunshine state (Florida). The name of my business is Triple B (Body by Barbara) which focuses on Health & Wellness. I got into the fitness industry back in November of 2019. But before that I have always been active in sports & dance, so that background was always there. When I got to college in 2013 I wanted to stay active to join the track team as a walk on but that did not go as planned. Despite it not working out, I stayed active throughout college. In 2017, I started looking up female fitness trainers and I was inspired by their journey and testimony, that I came up with my business name but it wasn’t established until May 18, 2020. In 2019 I moved to West Palm Beach, FL where it would be the start of my journey in becoming a Fitness Instructor/Personal trainer. I never imagined that I would fall in love with helping people on this level, that I would change and touch so many people lives physically, mentally and emotionally. The type of services that I provide is personal training, group classes, yoga and assisted stretching. I offer programs that are customized for each individual depending on their lifestyle. The problem that I solve is changing people perspective when it comes to health & wellness, which allows them to break bad habits and introduce healthy ones so that they’re able to reach their goal (s) effectively. The thing that sets me apart from others is that I will not lie to you, to be honest, that reaching any goal(s) takes time and that some habits are harder to break but that doesn’t make it impossible to have that breakthrough to get your desire body. To show them that it does require a person willingness and efforts. My journey has made me most proud of my perseverance, consistency and discipline despite the ups and down in my business/life . The main things that I want people to know about me is that I am a hard worker, I take my work seriously and I love to help people who are seeking help because they are ready and willing to make that change in their life. I’m here to provide change to individuals’ lives that they didn’t think they would need. Not just on a mental level but on every level mentally, physically and emotionally.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In 2020, I had just broken up with my ex and it was a emotional time of my life, for a lot of people especially at that time. As many businesses are opening back up, I had got an offer letter from my job to be rehired. In that process I was on the verge of getting my second Certification. This was my first break up and it was so emotionally painful that I had to force myself to focus on my goal to finish up my certification, Every day when I had down time at work I would study for an hour to get my mind off of the pain. But despite what I was going through, I still manage to show up for myself and not allow it to effect my performance at work. But I would have moments where I call out because I didn’t have the emotional capacity to be around people. All and all that was a time period where I couldn’t let what I was going through stop me from accomplishing what I needed to, I earned my certification in February 2021 . I thank God for my strength and endurance. That despite that I knew I had to keep pushing forward.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my audience on social by knowing my why, being myself and posting content that is informative/fun based on the industry that I am, which is health & wellness. I am still in the process of building and my best advice would be is to stay consistent, engaging, don’t forget your why, do it uncomfortable and be you.
