We were lucky to catch up with Bailey-Siamone Mason recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Bailey-Siamone, thanks for joining us today. We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
As a full time musician trying to get my original music heard, there have been so many investments and untrustworthy people that I have had to deal with. I lost so much money due to scammers and con artists and had to learn the hard way that you really can’t trust anyone in the music industry. It’s a hard pill to swallow, and an unfortunate way to view your career, but it’s the truth and you have to trust that your work and persistence will pay off in the end.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
was born and raised in Dallas, Tx and, believe it or not, my career began at the age of 3 in piano studies and I never looked back. Around 10 or 11 years old, I wanted to take my music to next level. I auditioned and was accepted into the Southern Methodist University Piano Preparatory Department in Dallas, Tx studying under Dr. Catherine Lysinger. Before this, I began my harp studies at the age of 8 and studied with Naoko Nakamura. I have been performing both piano and harp all over the Dallas/Fort Worth area. From there I was accepted into the Performing Arts High School in Dallas, graduated from the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston with a Harp Performance Degree, and came back to Dallas to get my Masters Degree in Music at SMU. During my education and beyond, I have studied classical music. After I finished my Master’s Degree and wanted to create original music on my own. I have made 2 EP’s and multiple singles on all music platforms
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I grew my audience on my Instagram page by working with a marketing team who helps boost my posts in my area and gain new and genuine followers. This meant that had to put out new posts and reels constantly. It sometimes got a little frustrating and I actually was burnt out for a while and took a break from posting. I didn’t believe in my content anymore and I didn’t think my audience was interest. Everyone always tells you to just keep going but sometimes it’s also ok to sit back for a minute and think about if you’d like to go in the same direction as before, or take a different route. I chose both, and am combining my new music with my original ideas. It has been hard, but I’m excited for what’s coming next
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Honestly, I want my creativity and originality to be heard around the world. I’m going to continue to create more music of my own and post them on social media and music platforms.
