We were lucky to catch up with Bailey Foreman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Bailey , appreciate you joining us today. Often the greatest growth and the biggest wins come right after a defeat. Other times the failure serves as a lesson that’s helpful later in your journey. We’d appreciate if you could open up about a time you’ve failed.
Absolutely, failure has been an integral part of my journey as an artist. One particular instance that stands out occurred early in my career when I sold one of my first pieces through Facebook Marketplace. Excitement turned to dismay when, upon unloading the artwork, I discovered that it had cracked off the frame during transportation. It was a humbling moment, to say the least.
However, this setback served as a pivotal lesson in the importance of investing in quality materials. While I initially used plywood panels and self-framed my art to keep costs down, this experience highlighted the necessity of prioritizing durability and craftsmanship. I realized that to truly provide the best products for my clients, I needed to ensure that every aspect of my artwork met the highest standards.
From that point on, I committed myself to meticulous attention to detail and sourcing top-quality materials. While I still take pride in crafting and framing my own pieces, I now do so with the confidence that they will withstand the test of time. Each canvas I stretch and every frame I assemble is a testament to my dedication to excellence.
I’m immensely grateful for the understanding and support of my clients, who have entrusted me with the task of creating custom artwork for their homes. I strive to honor that trust and deliver pieces that exceed expectations. My signature serves as a promise of quality, ensuring that each artwork is not just a decorative piece, but a cherished investment that stands as a testament to both artistry and durability.

Bailey , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello! I’m Bailey, the creative force behind CABB Artistry- a fine art studio dedicated to crafting personalized masterpieces.
The name ‘CABB,’ Custom Art by Bailey, itself embodies my commitment to delivering truly one-of-a-kind pieces. From conceptualization to execution, I aim to reflect the unique tastes and preferences of my clients. Whether it’s a vibrant abstract painting or a serene landscape, each piece is meticulously crafted to evoke emotion and enhance its surroundings.
What sets CABB Artistry apart is my commitment to crafting personalized artwork tailored to each client’s vision. Whether collaborating with homeowners or interior designers, I strive to capture the essence of their space and translate it into unique pieces that reflect their style. From building and stretching canvases to framing, I personally handle every aspect of the process with care and attention to detail.
I take pride in the diversity of my portfolio, as each project presents a new opportunity to explore different aesthetics. However, a consistent thread in my work is the fusion of elegance and earthiness, creating pieces that resonate with both sophistication and natural beauty.
One of the highlights of my career has been the privilege of showcasing my artwork in prestigious events like the UV and St. George Parade of Homes for the past four years. It’s a testament to the trust and appreciation my clients have placed in my work.
Ultimately, what I want potential clients to know is that CABB Artistry isn’t just about creating art, it’s about crafting meaningful pieces that enhance living spaces and evoke emotions. With a hands-on approach and a dedication to delivering quality craftsmanship, I’m committed to making art accessible and affordable without compromising on excellence.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Undoubtedly, the most powerful strategy for expanding my clientele has been the organic growth driven by word of mouth. Delivering exceptional quality and personalized service has not only delighted my customers but also spurred them to share their positive experiences with others. These satisfied clients have become my most effective advocates, consistently referring friends, family, and colleagues to my artistry.
Furthermore, cultivating meaningful relationships within the industry has played a crucial role in sustaining and amplifying this growth. Collaborating closely with professionals such as realtors, interior designers, and fellow artists has not only broadened my network but also opened doors to new opportunities and projects. I’m deeply appreciative of partnerships with esteemed interior designers like Allison Campbell, whose trust in my work has resulted in ongoing collaborations and a steady stream of repeat business.
Ultimately, while marketing tactics and networking efforts are valuable, there’s no substitute for the genuine endorsement and referrals that stem from consistently exceeding client expectations. By prioritizing quality, authenticity, and nurturing professional connections, I’ve been able to steadily expand my clientele base and establish a reputation built on trust and satisfaction.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
CABB Artistry certainly started as a side hustle, but its journey from a passion project to a thriving full-time business has been nothing short of remarkable. It all began during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic when my husband and I embarked on a friendly competition to see who could turn $200 into the most profit. Initially, I dabbled in flipping furniture, but a pivotal moment came when I created a piece of art for our own home and realized its potential.
Recognizing the demand for affordable, handmade art, I pivoted my focus to crafting and selling semi-custom pieces on Facebook Marketplace. The response was overwhelming, confirming my belief in the market’s appetite for unique, accessible artwork. Winning the wager with my husband was just the beginning; I saw an opportunity to turn CABB Artistry into something more substantial.
To expand my reach and showcase my work to a wider audience, I launched an Instagram account, using it as a platform to exhibit my creations and offer pieces for sale. Despite initially having minimal social media presence, the response was incredible, underscoring the power of visual storytelling and word-of-mouth marketing.
One of the pivotal moments in CABB Artistry’s journey was a strategic collaboration with a renowned photographer, trading two pieces of art for exposure on their Instagram. This partnership significantly boosted my visibility within the Salt Lake community, opening doors to new opportunities and clientele.
Another significant milestone was the opportunity to create art for ‘The House That She Built’ in the UV Parade of Homes—an honor that not only elevated my profile but also solidified my place among industry professionals. Today, I’m proud to have my artwork featured in multi-million dollar parade homes, a testament to the growth and success of CABB Artistry.
While my husband may take credit for the initial bet that sparked this journey, the evolution of CABB Artistry into my career in custom art is a testament to perseverance, creativity, and seizing opportunities. It’s a journey I’m grateful for, and one that continues to inspire me to push the boundaries of my craft.
