We recently connected with Bailey Enlow and have shared our conversation below.
Bailey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
Yes! I have been earning a full time living for almost 2 years now. The journey was long and stressful. I worked 40 hours a week and commuted 2 hours a day at my regular job. I would edit photos during my lunch break, answer emails, do sessions in the evenings, and shoot weddings on the weekends. Life was crazy! It took me about 2 and a half years to make the jump to going full time. Covid hit and I was able to stay home with our son for 6 weeks. At that point, I realized how much time I was missing from him while juggling these two careers. I decided it was time to make the jump so I quit my full time job to pursue this career! Making the jump was scary but honestly it only grew my business even more. I finally had the time and energy to put into the business that it deserved. A year later, my husband was able to quit his job and join me full time! Knowing what I know now, I would have 100% quit my full time job sooner to pursue this career. The risk was worth it.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are a husband and wife team who offer photography and videography. We specialize in weddings but we offer so much more! We offer family, newborn, maternity and even marketing photos/films. There isn’t anything we aren’t willing to dabble in. What sets us apart from others in this industry is the fact that we are a one stop shop. Couples love that they can book both services through us and they know we work well together. We truly pride ourselves in our customer experiences and we almost always end up being friends with our clients. We create experiences rather than just spending one hour with you and moving on.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Posting!!! Posting has been huge for us and our social media presence. I’ve always told myself “posting something is better than posting nothing”
Even if it’s something I don’t 100% love— I post it anyways. Usually to my surprise, people love it and think it’s even better than I anticipated. Being able to post consistently will help grow your following. Being able to show about your personal life and letting people know who you are is also a huge help!
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Liking and following my clients on their social media is how I stay in contact with clients! Engaging in their life and showing them that I truly care.
