Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bailee Stewart. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Bailee, appreciate you joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
I had a passion for fashion growing up and loved putting together outfits! I discovered as I started college that I would love to do something that involved clothing and possibly helping others with inspiration, since I was constantly asked about where I got my clothes growing up. I followed many fashion bloggers and influencers such as Delaney Childs, Mj Hedderman, and Luisa Villafane. I would see their content and thought, wow I’d love to do this and also help others figure out a style that works for them and makes them feel confident! So I was urged a couple years back (after getting out of a long term relationship) to start posting content and to really find myself through fashion. I felt I could succeed at this because I already would post my life on socials and knew I had a group of people that liked my style. So why wouldn’t others? I knew that doing this would make me happy and I would never get tired of it since it’s something I enjoyed prior. I certainly still have a long way to go and am really going to focus more on it when I graduate college, but for right now I’m very happy with how far I’ve gotten!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into the fashion industry because I’ve always loved clothes and shopping of course. What fascinates me is how fashion is a type of art. You can put together an outfit and people can almost read you just based off of what you’re wearing. It a way to express yourself and no outfit is the same. What sets me apart from others is I feel that I have a broad sense of style. I also tend to go for very bright things, rather than basics. I really like to make sure my profile grabs others attention! I am most proud of doing collaborations with bigger brands such as Inkbox and Bondi Boost! I haven’t been doing this for long or have been able to focus on it completely, so it amazes me that I’ve even been able to get this far!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think what helped me is having an eye for vibrant and funky colors/patterns. I feel as if people are afraid to wear certain things but I am definitely one to test the limits! I also feel as if my hair plays a role since I am a redhead it definitely stand out a bit!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy I would say is posting consistently and making it relevant to the people that follow you! This allows others to see you on their explore page more often and give you a follow! I’d also say tagging every product I wear and brand so they can potentially see me and others will know where I got what I’m wearing!
