Baeprint, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

It’s really kinda hard to pinpoint the exact moment I knew I wanted to pursue being a creative professionally, because I literally grew up performing my whole life as a competitive dancer so I would say I just always knew I wanted to be a star, once I saw how captivated I made people just by being on stage. Outside of that, I always have been the freestyle type of girl since a small kid. My dads very musically gifted and that’s a way we would connect all my life; he’d bust out rapping and really be flowing so that admiration and love for music just progressed in me. I do recall a time when I was at work, in my early 20s and we were bored in between calls. I’d have ppl throw out random words and my homeboy who sat next to me would create fire ass beats on the desk with a pen and I’d just freestyle —- that soon became highly demanded by my coworkers every Friday , along with tons of feedback saying I was talented which of course, urged me to want to get in the booth and lay down real music eventually. That’s when I knew.

Baeprint, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

To those who don’t know me, my name is Baeprint also known as Mama Bae. I’m a KC native independent artist and entrepreneur. A 25 year old hardworking single mom by day, hard hitting rapper by night with flows for days. I started a little over year ago while pregnant & it’s been foot on necks ever since.

What sets me apart from the rest is definitely my sound, my lyricism, and my all around vibe as an artist that’s kind of a pleasant surprise to the masses. If you were to look at me, you wouldn’t expect me to be saying the things I do in my music, and It’s hard. I love that. I get complimented the most on the context of my music and that’s what matters to me, the bars. I don’t care to be super sex-driven in my music because I really do have some s*** to say.

What I’m most proud of is the way my music and my projects have been received and the love I’m getting from people that I personally respect when it come to the music scene. It’s motivation to see myself checking things off my mental goals as I began this journey in my music career. I know I’m destined for greatness, I believe that if you do the work, keep your faith and do right by people, eventually it becomes evident when you are.

I definitely want people to take away knowing a little bit about me when they listen to Baeprint music. To know me is to love me but I’m hella misunderstood and I think it kinda will show more and more as I get comfortable opening up on wax. Y’all just gotta stay tuned foreal foreal.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is being able to express myself however I feel. I can literally create anything I want and that in itself is so empowering and liberating for me. As well as therapeutic.. I began this as an outlet for my frustration so I definitely love that part of it the utmost.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My main goal is to of course capitalize off my talent and hopefully lead to providing a better, safer, more financially sound life for myself and my kids that in turn, breaks generational curses and barriers for our future young queens and kings. I want to show them that hard work, faith and talent can take you anywhere you set your mind on.
