Baddie , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project that I have curated is my debut album “Reclamation”, which centers around uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community. With 16 tracks set to release in October 2023, listeners can expect an album that fuses house, pop, and R&B. In April 2023, I released my hit single “Buss Down Wig” along with my first official music video.

I (Baddie Brooks) am a multifaceted artist who specializes in singing, songwriting, and performing on trumpet and euphonium. I released my debut singles titled “TELEPATH” and “Gworlz and Gayz” in 2022. I am most proud of my headlining performance at Ferndale Pride (held in Ferndale, MI). I have performed for the Detroit Tigers and I’m a 2023 fellow for Amplify Washtenaw. I want my fans to know that there is beauty in claiming your true identity. I am certain that my listeners with be positively impacted by the songs that are in my debut album “Reclamation”. My original music can be streamed on multiple platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon, and more…

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My creative journey is driven by my desire to empower Queer and Transgender people. I spent more than half of my life not existing as my true self, and I want to spread the message of reclamation and how important it is to be yourself despite the biases and opinions of other people.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Society can support artists by advocating for fair wages. It is very difficult to support yourself as an artist if you are not compensated well.
