Babbler, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?
Most people, when they hear us, make connections to 90s rock and grunge bands like Nirvana or Primus – but we consider ourselves more of a jazz trio. We are heavily influenced by jazz icons Herbie Hancock, Charles Mingus, and Yoko Ono. Our sound derives directly from the bebop and Big Band era of the 1930s and 1940s. For some reason, we’ve had a significant amount of trouble breaking in to the local jazz fusion scene in Atlanta. We’ve mainly been playing at local dive bars and heavier venues and this really gets us down. We consider ourselves on the cutting edge of free-form post-rhythmic acid jazz and that’s what we wish people would understand.

We are Babbler INC, an Atlanta local corporate jazz combo. We strive to create unique and inspiring advertiser-friendly original music. We play gigs all over the southeast, including Atlanta and Georgia. Our music is fueled by narcotics and greed and we make sure to source our merchandise as unethically as possible. At the end of the day we got into this industry to make as much money as humanly possible. We think what sets us apart from our competition is our unrivaled, unquenchable thirst for that Good Old American Dollar. Any potential clients and fans must know we massively appreciate their contributions to our merch sales as it allows us to continue living our lavish and reckless lifestyles.

The industrial revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. That being said, Babbler NFTs will be available this Fall.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
