We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Azazus a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Azazus thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
My passion for music was ignited in middle school when I performed at a record label audition and turned class poetry into rap. These experiences, coupled with the influence of my late father, a traveling musician, sparked my curiosity about the music industry and set me on the path to becoming a professional artist.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Azazus, a unique artist who has carved a niche in the music industry by blending elements of Rap, Pop, and Anime genres. My journey into music was sparked during my middle school years when I had the opportunity to perform at a record label audition and turn class poetry into rap. These experiences, coupled with the influence of my late father, a traveling musician, ignited my curiosity about the music industry and set me on the path to becoming a professional artist.
My music is characterized by its emotive lyrics, immersive beats, and references to popular anime series. I provide a unique listening experience that resonates with both music and anime fans. My recent songs, such as “Silent Heartbeat” and “Late Last Nite”, showcase my innovative approach to music, blending storytelling with rhythm and melody.
What sets me apart is my ability to create a unique blend of music genres and my innovative approach to storytelling through music. I am proud of the unique niche I have carved in the music industry and the positive response from my listeners.
I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that my music is more than just entertainment – it’s a journey through narratives, emotions, and experiences. I am committed to providing a unique and immersive listening experience for all my listeners.
You can listen to my music on Spotify, where I have a growing base of monthly listeners. For more information about my music, tour dates, and merchandise, you can visit my official website. I look forward to sharing my musical journey with you. Thank you for your support!

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
In my view, society can best support artists and creatives by fostering an environment of open dialogue and discovery. It’s important for people to keep the conversation going about the brands and artists they enjoy. When they discover a new brand or artist, they shouldn’t feel apprehensive about not being in the know immediately. I’ve had experiences where people were surprised to find that I was already verified and had a listener base without their prior knowledge. It seemed that they were more taken aback by the fact that they hadn’t discovered me sooner, rather than being excited about my accomplishments. I believe it’s crucial for people to be open to receiving many forms of the things they love and to share these discoveries with the people they care about. This openness and willingness to share can greatly contribute to a thriving creative ecosystem.
Have you ever had to pivot?
A significant pivot in my career occurred during the pandemic that started in 2020. At that time, I had just graduated college with an AA in Business and was pursuing music full-time. However, the pandemic led to the cancellation of all my live gigs and annual music festivals. This sudden change forced me to rely more heavily on online platforms for support. It was during this period that I honed my skills in social media marketing and explored innovative ways to provide people with a unique musical experience, even if they weren’t physically present with me. This pivot not only led to the development of many popular songs in 2020 but also helped me foster a supportive community on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Despite the challenges, this pivot was a transformative period in my career, shaping my approach to music and audience engagement.
