For years I never knew how important it is to protect your hair. When I became a Cosmetologist I educated myself on the importance of hair care. Soon enough I was able to pour my knowledge into my clients and decided to start my business. It is important for men & women to know that satin bonnets, scarfs, pillows cases etc.

5. Protects Hair Overall
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Azaria Symone, 20 year old cosmetologist from VA. Doing hair has been a passion & skill of mines since age 12. Over the years I’ve worked to build my craft so that I could be where I am today, young & successful. When I was 18 I decided to start a hair care business selling satin bonnets, scarfs, pillowcases, hair care kits & more. As a cosmetologist I know how important hair care is therefore starting a business in relations to hair was important to me. While in business I’ve realized how challenging owning a business really is; from feeling like your wasting your time, is it worth it, will my products sell to is anyone going to support me.” But I’ve come to realize that it takes hard work, dedication, determination & faith to succeed. A.Symone Collection, LLC caters to all hair types. Quality & durability is very important when creating our products because there is no better feeling than having a product that lasts. Although, owning a business has its ups & downs, knowing I never gave up and continuing to provide products that not only protect people’s hair but also makes them feel confident keeps me going.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
When starting A.Symone Collection, LLC I wrote everything I wanted to sell down with each expense. I also calculated the cost of website, LLC for my state & more. Then got a business credit card and decided to start small. Also I would save at least a $100 every 2 weeks to put towards my business.
We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
A.Symone Collection, LLC is sold on Etsy. When starting out I sold on a E-commerce website. I transitioned to Etsy because it was more affordable. Pro to selling on Etsy; easy to set up, no start up cost, can run ads.
