We were lucky to catch up with Aysia Davis recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Aysia, thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

I came up with my business idea after taking both business and fashion courses in college. At the time I was still undecided about what exactly I wanted to do or the career path I wanted to choose. There was always a connection for me between fashion and business because they are the main things that people focus on the most. In my childhood I struggled the most with defining my self-image, believing in myself, and constantly comparing myself to others for years. Then one day, after having a motivational talk with my mother it gave me a reality check having me change my mindset from thinking low and negative to thinking more highly and positively about myself. At that moment I realized everything I was feeling about myself had more to do with what I was feeling on the inside about who I was and what I looked like. I had to change the way I saw myself and the narrative of my own story and that was to begin loving all of who I am. Once I had a solid foundation that I could build on that’s when my passion for fashion became a tool of expression for me. I learned that once I begin to feel better about who I was inwardly then my appearance, behavior, communication skills and personal/professional goals changed as well.

This is where my desire to help others build and develop their business and personal brands was born. I knew that if I could walk someone through simple steps that allowed them to feel better about themselves inside and out, then I’d found my passion and a business I could create that solves a problem. Once I overcame all of my insecurities, there was one more major battle and that was conquering my fears of pursuing my dreams. I had to learn to become my own cheerleader and force myself out of my comfort zone by offering my services. The problem that I solve is helping others develop a positive self-image that helps them feel good and look good. Everyone wants to look good but many lack the discipline and work it requires to fix the battles of what they struggle with on the inside. Your brand is your image and once you learn the tools of what is connected to you and your image of how you view yourself then that’s when you can fix it.

I became my own first client, which lead to many compliments, before long I was styling family and friends and my business began to take off. I created my consulting agency that’s a combination of fashion and business. Then from that, I branched off and started my own clothing brand and created an online boutique called “Beauty Colour’s Boutique” where you can shop for unique items and accessories. Inspiring women to embrace their size and shape.

My name is Aysia Davis and I am 28 years old. I am a city girl from Southern California. I graduated from college with a BS in Sports Management. My passion is helping others become the best version of themselves and encouraging them to pursue their dreams.  I am a natural-born leader who believes in the value of inspiring and empowering others to live on purpose and walk in their purpose.

I realized that just like myself, many other people struggle with finding their own positive self-identity and need an extra push to help them pursue their dreams. I came up with a solution to a problem: creating a business that involved helping people look and feel better about who they are and what they do. I created my business brand “Ambitiouss Brand” because the name exemplifies the character of the ambitious drive of who I am as a person. But also, the core values that my business is centered on represent the key things I value in my own life. Those things are personal growth/ development, self-respect, trust, and determination.

I enjoy doing what I do because I see different versions of who people are and see the transformation as they elevate and succeed.  I am not here to give people a show I am here to change lives and leave a legacy and impact on people’s lives. Find what makes you complete and always be true to yourself. I am unique because I choose to be the original version of myself. Do not cheapen who you are to be a copy version of someone else always remain true to yourself. Have you ever had to pivot?

Since I started this path of being an entrepreneur, it has not been a smooth road. There have been plenty of days and times when I wanted to give up. But I had to remember the reason why I started the business and I had to show up for myself and see my vision through despite the difficult times. These last couple of years, I can say that it has taught me the importance of adapting to changes in dealing with COVID. I had to learn new ways to advertise, grow and gain even more exposure for my business. So everything moved online virtually and had to create a new of being able to gain clients and switch up the normal routine of how I was used to doing things. This was challenging for me because now I had to find even more creative ways to attract an audience and stay updated on the latest technology and social media trends to keep my own business growing.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

When I initially started my business during the pandemic I was still working and had savings where I would put my emergency money to the side. I decided to invest in myself the capital that I had was from the stimulus checks that were being handed out. I decided to be smart and not spend it on materialistic things like everyone else but use that money to start my business. This allowed me to not worry about where the money would come from but to just have enough faith in myself and God to believe that whatever I do have and invest into my business would come back multiplied. I had my mom invest in me as well she believed in my vision and dream and each time I decided to do something she has been there as my support.
