We recently connected with Aysia BerLynn and have shared our conversation below.
Aysia , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To be successful, I think you have to understand what success means to you vs. what society suggests. It takes tenacity and grit to keep going when you get knocked down and feel uninspired. You must dream about it and manifest it in your heart and mind until it’s yours.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hi! I’m Aysia BerLynn!
Singer-songwriter vibe creator✨
I believe in creating what makes you feel. I aim to share good music, an energy that moves you, and lyrics you can relate to. What sets me apart from others? Mmmm I think it’s the way I connect to each listener while in the space. I dive into myself and share that moment like we walked in the room together, and do it all again the next show.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One major lesson I had to learn is “perfection isn’t real” I am the best version of myself in this lifetime, and I am still learning and growing, and I deserve grace. I can’t wait until my performance or song is “perfect.” That thought process is a distraction from being my highest self. For a few years, I would avoid performing because I didn’t want to make mistakes or my voice to crack; lol, that feeling got so overwhelming that it turned into stage fright. It was a significant setback in my progression that has propelled me in many ways. I’m performing again, and I love how organic I allow myself to be and how I connect and check in with myself.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The story of my resilience starts deep within. I have been my worst critic for a long time. Just when I begin to fly, I allow fear to take over—hoping for perfection. I would perform for a year, then sit out the next half of a year as if I didn’t just kill it! I keep going, and I keep working internally to remove the notion of perfection, my idea of what others want to hear or see. I create what I like, and I wear what I think is cool. I’m okay with being dorky, and I accept my part in
