Ayonna, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I came up with the idea of A1 Hoops Basketball LLC based on my basketball recruiting experience. I played my high school basketball in South Carolina and I felt that the border states North Carolina and Georgia gave more girls basketball exposure than South Carolina. I felt that the players in South Carolina was getting over looked for basketball schlorships because it wasn’t enough media attention to promote the players. So, I wanted to create a platform in South Carolina that we could highlight players to give them visibility to college coaches. So, by me going through the process of getting recruited I know first hand what the college coaches are looking for in recruiting a player so, I’m able to use that to help guide players through the process.

Ayonna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into this business from playing basketball since 5th grade. Basketball was able to pay for my college tuition. So, I knew whenever I got a chance to be able to help players play college basketball that’s what I wanted to do. I host basketball tournaments, camps and run social media campaigns to help girls basketball players get visibility to college coaches. What I want my followers to know is that the journey they are embarking on. I have walked in their shoes and willing to guide them through the process of earning a basketball scholarship. Fun Fact- My basketball jersey was the first female jersey retired at Mauldin High School alongside Kevin Garnett ( Retired NBA)

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What built my reputation in my market is that I actually played basketball in high school and college. So I know first hand the process of going through the recruiting process. I also know how to evaluate players to know which level college coach would be interested in that type of player. So by me evaluating that built my reputation with college coaches that I’m a reliable source to help find players for their college programs.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is being able to deliver everything that I advertise. So, by doing that gains the trust of my clients and they spread the word about my business.
