We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ayman Armoush a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ayman, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The mission behind Handy Hive Pros is to eliminate the frustration and friction that so many homeowners face when trying to get basic work done on their homes.
Too often, hiring a handyman becomes a drawn-out process marked by back-and-forth phone calls, missed appointments, and high-pressure sales tactics. Many contractors insist on coming out just to give you a quote, not because they need to assess the work, but because they want to sell you on their service in person. That wastes your time, and in many cases, they don’t even show up, or they show up late and hit you with a quote that’s inflated to cover their overhead.
We do things differently.
At Handy Hive Pros, we provide upfront, flat-rate pricing and remote estimates whenever possible — no need to rearrange your schedule or wait around for someone who might not even come. We believe you should be able to get transparent, reliable service without jumping through hoops.
Our mission is to bring professionalism and simplicity to local home services. We streamline everything — from booking to payment — so you can get things done without the usual headaches. Whether you’re a new homeowner, a busy parent, or managing a property, you shouldn’t have to chase people down or worry about being overcharged. We’re here to be your trusted, no-hassle solution.
This business is about more than just repairs — it’s about restoring trust and making life easier for the people we serve.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Ayman Armoush, founder of Handy Hive Pros — a handyman and home services business based in Tampa. I launched this company after experiencing firsthand how frustrating it was to get basic work done around the house. Contractors wouldn’t call back, quotes were vague or inflated, and even just scheduling a visit turned into a game of phone tag. I knew there had to be a better way.
My background is actually in tech and IT consulting, so I’ve always been drawn to building systems that make things more efficient and user-friendly. I took that same mindset and applied it to the home services world — an industry that, frankly, isn’t known for being transparent or reliable. Handy Hive Pros was my way of rethinking what a modern handyman business could look like.
We offer everything from ceiling fan installs and gutter cleaning to patio screen repair and furniture assembly. But what really sets us apart is how we operate. Most of our services come with flat-rate pricing and remote estimates. That means no waiting around for someone to “come out and take a look,” only to hit you with a quote that feels more like a sales pitch. Our clients know what to expect from the start, and they can book directly online.
Our customers range from first-time homeowners to busy parents to property managers juggling multiple units. No matter who we’re helping, the goal is the same: make it easier to take care of your home without all the friction.
At the end of the day, Handy Hive Pros isn’t just about fixing things — it’s about restoring trust in a space where that’s often missing. I’m proud that we’ve been able to build something people genuinely rely on. That means more to me than any single project ever could.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Handy Hive Pros started as a side hustle born out of frustration — not just my own, but the stories I kept hearing from friends, family, and neighbors. People were constantly venting about how hard it was to find reliable, reasonably priced help for simple home projects. The quotes were outrageous, the scheduling was a nightmare, and many contractors either ghosted or showed up with high-pressure sales tactics. I saw a real gap in the market — and an opportunity to fix it.
At the time, I was working full-time in IT consulting, which I still do, but I wanted to build something more hands-on and community-focused. I started small — just helping a few people with things like mounting TVs, pressure washing, or minor home repairs. The demand was instant. People were relieved to get flat-rate pricing, quick turnaround, and clear communication without the usual runaround.
What started as weekend work quickly snowballed. I built a website, structured flat-rate services, and began marketing on social media. From there, I brought on subcontractors so I could expand without burning out. We streamlined estimates by offering remote pricing — no more scheduling just to get a quote — and that became a major differentiator for us.
One of the biggest milestones was securing recurring work from realtors and property managers — they needed a go-to handyman they could count on. That validated the business model and gave me the confidence to keep building it out seriously. Today, Handy Hive Pros is a growing, profitable service business helping homeowners across Tampa, and I’m excited about what’s next.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Yes — several books and thought leaders have shaped how I approach business, especially as I’ve grown Handy Hive Pros from a side hustle into a real operation.
One of the earliest influences was Brian Tracy. His material helped me shift my mindset around discipline, goal setting, and time management, which were all essential in the beginning when I was balancing this with a full-time job. His no-nonsense approach to productivity really laid the groundwork for how I stay focused and consistent.
Codie Sanchez gave me a whole new lens on entrepreneurship, especially around building boring businesses with strong cash flow. Her content made me realize that you don’t need to chase flashy ideas to be successful. A well-run service business can be just as powerful — and a lot more predictable — if you treat it seriously.
Alex Hormozi’s insights have also been huge. His content on value creation, pricing psychology, and offer structure helped me understand how to package my services in a way that’s both customer-friendly and profitable. He’s great at simplifying complex ideas into things you can immediately act on.
Dan Martell has influenced the way I think about systems, delegation, and founder mindset. His focus on working “above the business” instead of always being stuck inside it is something I’m constantly working toward as I grow my team and streamline operations.
Each of these voices has helped shape how I think, from the practical day-to-day stuff to the long-term vision of what I want Handy Hive Pros to become. They’ve helped me build with more intention, better structure, and way less guesswork.
