We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ayla Rose a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ayla, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I am crafting a legacy rooted in freedom, serving as a wayshower by illuminating a path with light and unconditional love. Through my creations, particularly images, and other works, I provide tools for individuals to navigate their past, embrace their uniqueness, and move towards realizing their authentic potential. Encouraging a collective journey toward oneness, I aspire to empower others to recognize their cosmic essence as beings of energy within the vast universe
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I cultivated a passion for art during my early teens, delving deeply into refining my skills as both an artist and writer. Transitioning into adulthood, I intensified my focus on art, eventually venturing into marketing my creations. In my late 20s, I expanded my repertoire to include painting and leatherworking, specializing in crafting intricate leather crystal crowns.
My diverse portfolio now features detailed works across multiple mediums. Through my art, especially the unique crystal crowns, I aim to facilitate a deeper self-discovery, encouraging others to tap into their authenticity and divine essence.
Excitement fills me as I share my creations with those resonating with spiritual and healing journeys. My work serves as a guide for inner transformation, helping individuals navigate their past, embracing a more powerful and positive version of themselves.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
At a point in my life in my mid twenties, I placed my art on the back burner amidst challenging circumstances. Soon after, I found myself living on the streets. During those tough years, my creative skills became my lifeline. I innovated new ideas and methods for crafting art and other products, exploring novel avenues for selling and marketing my work. This transformative experience has shaped my current business.
Focusing on my passion and embracing what I love proved to be my salvation from homelessness. It not only provided a path to stability but also led me to a place where I found a partner, building a family rooted in creativity and resilience.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I was raised in a traditional environment that conveyed the belief that art wasn’t a viable career, and making a living from it was unlikely. My great grandfather, an artist, struggled to earn much from his paintings during his lifetime, though their value increased posthumously. My mother, naturally gifted in drawing, never pursued her talent due to various challenges at home and work, considering it an unnecessary skill. These where my examples of what an artist could achieve.
The lack of support for art as a career persisted as I grew. When I reached adult hood I had many mini breakthroughs, as I discovered my passion for art deeper and deeper, I knew there had to be a way to make a successful living from it. I had many attempts that I never fully fulfilled, until my mid-twenties when I found myself homeless. Stripped of everything except my own interests, I realized the power of determination, through inspiration and passion. Despite the barriers from my past, I never ceased creating art, and I remain committed to doing so regardless of the circumstances.
