We recently connected with Ayianna Palmer and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ayianna , thanks for joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
I can say that I am truly happy as a business owner. The freedom that come with being a business owner is what I’ve always wanted. I worked job after job since I was 14 & I’ve missed a lot of life moments because I had to work. Becoming a business owner is not a get out free card you have to work 10x harder but you also get to pick and choose your work days & you can always make time for those you love when you want. I don’t miss having a regular job one bit. Taking that leap of faith and leaving my job was everything. Now at 25 I’m able to work & travel at the same time.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Ayianna. I am 25, I own one of the best hair companies in Michigan and Dallas, Texas. We offer quality hair extensions & Wigs. I started this hair company in 2017 and we are online based. We focus on providing our customers with great quality hair and experience when shopping. We ship worldwide , we have customers in UK, Italy & Canada. We do wedding parties & we have a few celebrity clientele. The main thing that set FabBundles apart is the creativity we bring when marketing. I go above and beyond to make sure our clients can have fun while shopping. For example we offer FAB FRIDAYS every Friday which is when you get 20% off plus lashes and lip gloss with your purchase. My customer service team works around the clock to make sure our customers are taken care and valued.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
When starting my hair company in 2017 I spent my last $500 in my pocket to get my inventory I needed. Once I did that I switched over to shopify & started getting my orders in and then shopify offered me capital once they saw I had steady income. I used the shopify capital to get more inventory. Every time I made sales I would invest 50% of my money back into inventory & whatever else my business needed like graphics , bags , marketing materials & etc.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media now Vs back then is very different, as long as you make eye catching content & stay consistent you can build a solid audience on social media. Staying up to date on all the latest like TikTok’s , reels and interacting online can build your audience.
