We recently connected with Ayce Kyptyn and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ayce, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I spent 38 years repressing who I was, because I believed I was wrong, bad, broken, and sinful.
This mentality nearly killed me. I lost my job, family, community, and health all in the matter of days. When my world came crashing in I decided to critically think about how I got to this space.
A major aspect of my life that I repressed centered around my sexuality. My gender, expression, identity, and orientation.
As I began to peel back the layers of hurt it became clear I was living according to everyone else’s terms. I had completely denied and abandoned myself. It was in this moment that I decided to do a complete 180 in my life.
So, I hired a team of professionals: a therapist, a sex coach, and a doctor to help me unpack this. Which lead to an intense journey of healing. For the first time in my life, I found people who deeply cared about me who had the courage to ask, the compassion to acknowledge and the empathy to accept me for who I authentically am.
I truly believe if someone can feel the presence of you and your love…without the pressure to explain, fix, or change that’s enough to shift the energy in a new direction. And, this is why I do what I do today: I expertly hold space for all of you to exist.
When all of you can exist, everything changes. Everything.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As a Somatic Sexologist, I am professionally resourced to help my clients explore their gender, identity, expression, and orientation. Through this somatic inquiry, my clients learn how to slow down and attune to whatever is arising in the moment. From this space, we learn how to live a more centered lifestyle, grounded in who we authentically are.
What sets me apart from other providers is that this started as a personal journey of deep inquiry. I had no intention of this becoming my profession, I simply needed to do the work for myself. In that process I hired some of the top sexologist in the world to do a deep dive into this space, and it was through this process where I realized that everyone needs to experience this. I can remember laying on my providers table for my first session thinking: “what the hell am I doing here.” It felt so vulnerable, because it was! I firmly believe that I can’t (ethically) take someone where I haven’t been. I’ve done the work. I’ve gone into the depths of my soul and I’m continuing to go there.
So much of the pain that we all feel, is simply loneliness in the loss of who we are and I truly believe that if we can hold space for all of one to exist, we can then learn how to live into our authenticity and transmute this pain into pleasure.
There’s a depth of healing in this space that I’ve been unable to find in any other modality. It’s real, it’s raw, it’s vulnerable and it’s worth it. You are worth it. Let’s go there. Let’s ask the hard questions and live into our authenticity!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Authentic Expression: I started the medical transition process 2 years ago, and since then i’ve lost over 50 lbs!
There comes a point where the internal pain is greater than the pain from the world. And that’s when we decide to make the change.
I rewrote my story. I rewired my nervous system. I reclaimed my life.
I chose to transmute the pain and from this space I changed the trajectory of my life.
And THIS is why I do what I do today, professionally. It’s personal. THIS is sacred work.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
June 17, 2022 I unexpectedly lost my position as an executive leader in an international Christian organization… I was the first female under 30 to hold this position!
I had to sign an NDA, but the most important part you need to know is: I did nothing wrong.
This sent my world into a tailspin. I lost my job, community, family, and house all in the matter of days.
But, this ended up being a gift from the universe, as my life did a complete 180.
My tag line is: from missionary to missionary & beyond. I went from becoming a professional theologian and missionary to a professional sexologist helping individuals explore their sexuality, gender, identity, expression, and orientation.
