We were lucky to catch up with Ayanna Anderson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ayanna, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Clarity by LNE is the evolution of Lael’s Natural Essentials, a brand born in 2020 from my personal journey to find natural, effective solutions for my and my daughter’s skin and hair challenges. Struggling with dry skin and eczema, I became deeply invested in understanding how natural ingredients could provide lasting solutions. This passion led me to pursue my esthetician license in 2022, allowing me to expand my knowledge and help others achieve healthier skin through consistency and holistic care.
As I began working with clients, I witnessed firsthand how skincare could be more than just a routine—it could be a self-care practice that brings peace, relaxation, and clarity. This realization inspired the 2024 rebrand to Clarity by LNE, a brand dedicated to merging skincare with holistic wellness.
Our mission is to transform skincare into a luxurious, at-home self-care experience. Through thoughtfully crafted products and holistic services, we aim to nourish not just the skin but the mind and spirit. At Clarity by LNE, we believe self-care should be intentional, helping you cultivate moments of peace, reduce stress, and embrace self-love—because glowing skin starts from within.

Ayanna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Ayanna—I’m a wife, mother, licensed esthetician, and the creator of Clarity by LNE. My passion lies in skincare and self-care, and I specialize in crafting natural products such as body butters, scrubs, facial and body oils, cleansers, shower steamers, moisturizers, and more. Each product is carefully formulated with a unique essential oil blend to create a luxurious, spa-like experience at home. Whether you’re using my products for the first time or maintaining the glow from a facial service, my goal is for you to relax, unwind, and find clarity in every moment of self-care.
My journey into skincare and wellness began in 2020 when I struggled with sensitive skin and postpartum hair loss. Initially, I focused on hair care, but my fascination with skincare deepened as I discovered the powerful effects natural ingredients have—not just on our skin, but on our overall well-being. Clarity by LNE (formerly LNE) is named after my daughter, Ari Lael, because she is a part of this journey, too. I want her to understand that self-care is just as important as caring for her skin and hair—because nurturing yourself is essential to showing up fully for yourself and in the world.
At Clarity by LNE, my clients don’t just learn about skincare; they learn how the mind, body, and soul are interconnected. We discuss how factors like diet and stress impact the skin and emphasize that real results require consistency beyond the facial treatments received every 4-6 weeks. Skincare is more than a routine—it’s an opportunity to slow down, reset, and create a moment of peace in your day.
Every product I create includes a guided self-care practice to encourage mindfulness, relaxation, and intention. One of my greatest joys is educating my clients—not just on how to care for their skin, but on the importance of prioritizing themselves. In our fast-paced lives, it’s easy to neglect self-care, but we can only pour into others when we take the time to pour into ourselves.
I feel blessed that God has given me this vision, and I am committed to stewarding my gifts in a way that truly impacts lives. I look forward to continuing to share this passion through wellness events, where I can teach both the benefits of holistic skincare and the importance of intentional self-care. In addition, I will be hosting intimate workshops where people can create their own therapeutic skincare products, as well as curated events designed to help them decompress, unwind, and enjoy moments of stress-free relaxation.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The most effective way I’ve gained new clients has been through face-to-face marketing at pop-up shops and events. Referrals have also played a huge role in growing my clientele. While social media is a great tool, nothing compares to connecting with people in person, attending events, and building relationships through networking. You have to be willing to put yourself out there, even if it makes you feel a little nervous—it’s always worth it!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn when starting my business was not to overbuy products, especially in the beginning. I learned this the hard way, wasting both inventory and money. I was so excited about creating new products and experimenting with formulations that I stocked up before I had a consistent customer base to support the demand. I made the same mistake with back bar products when servicing clients, only to realize later that I had overinvested.
It really hit me when I reviewed my expenses at the end of the year and saw how much unused inventory I still had—it wasn’t a smart business decision. The key is to take your time, launch products gradually, and truly understand your target market and their needs before scaling up.
