We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ayana Lynch a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ayana , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission is to help creatives to pull out their most innovative selves and allow them to produce what the consumer wants as well as express their intended outcome for their work. Many creators lose sight of their intent or purpose of why they do what they do and conform to the norm of their industry. My business encourages clients to stay true to their authentic selves, while assisting with pulling out the most creative aspects of themselves to be put into their art. I’ve always wanted to help people bring their ideas and dreams to life. I think it’s important for dreamers and visionaries to have someone to support them as they bring their ideas to fruition. I’ve always found joy in helping people find the solution that makes everything come together.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Ayana Lynch and I am a native of Waynesboro, GA. I found my desire to help people business wise in college when I began to hang around more creative people and began to notice the things that they were missing. I had this overwhelming need to help and be a part of making it easier for people delegate their energy in the right direction. I started to help in any capacity that I could and noticed that as I got more involved, the ideas and solutions came easily to me to aid them in making their business run smoother. It wasn’t until I began helping my best friend in all aspects of her business that I realized that the more I helped, the more my love grew for the idea of being a creative content consultant and help people hone in on their creativity. I provide freelance editing services and creative content sessions. Reading has always been my first love, which is what prompted me to begin my editing journey. I’ve always been frustrated when I’ve read books from authors with great concepts, but the execution was off. I found myself wanting to assist with the process of creating and writing a book to ensure that the product is brought to its’ fullest potential. I’m most proud of the role I played in helping my clients grow while they are in their creative process. In helping my clients reach their desired potential, I became more confident in knowing that my services were necessary and confirmed that what I bring to the table is a necessity.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The lesson I had to unlearn is that being the underdog, underestimated, and/or rejected doesn’t last forever. You have more than what meets the eye. Believing that that was my reality held me back for a long time, and stifled my voice. It made me believe that my words weren’t valid and kept me quiet. Sometimes I still go into quiet mode because it’s safe, but I had to learn that other people’s beliefs can only hurt if you first believe them yourself. I had to learn my value and my worth to be able to help others see the best in themselves and their abilities.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is my ability to dream. Even in moments where I feel disappointed or discouraged, I can always dream again. Being able to see the beauty of the possibility of life in different aspects. That thought alone keeps me grounded and pushes me forward.
