We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Avyana Chapman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Avyana below.
Alright, Avyana thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
I came up with my brand, @Goodeatsonlyyy, on Instagram due to my passion for food. I would always take pictures of food at restaurants that deserved to be showed off. I have always had a slight interest in photography and a major interest in food, cooking, cocktails, and wine pairings, so on and so forth. I believe that food is more than just something we need to stay alive, it is culture, togetherness, and community!
I recently received my MBA with a concentration in marketing and really got a full understanding of how important influencers are for a brands well-being, public relation, social media strategy, and marketing strategy as a whole! I knew this business idea could really be successful especially with the amount I travel, passion for trying new eats, pure resilience, passion, drive, and adaptability!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
My name is Avyana Chapman, I am a 27 year old native south Floridian. I studied psychology at Florida Atlantic University and got my MBA with a concentration in marketing at Lynn University. I currently work in social media analytics, journalism, and my passion project -food blogging on IG. Culturally I am a big mutt and can appreciate foods from all over the world. I am Caribbean (Jamaican, Trinidadian, Bajan), European (German, Scottish, Irish), African, American, and so much more.
I got into my industry from being an avid food lover who had way too many photos of food on her phone to not make it into something meaningful. I started off featuring my favorite restaurants and from there got many recommendations to try other spots I may like. Scaled up and started working with over five PR firms to bring light to the restaurants, brands, and bars they represent.
Although the demand is high, food blogging is a saturated industry, so it is key for a food blog to pick a niche to specialize in. Goodeatsonlyyy prides itself on shooting all it’s pictures from an Iphone to give it’s viewer a true unedited view of what the food or drink they might order really looks like. Food bloggers are needed and essential to restaurants to help them grow their companies, bring in more revenue, and get them social media exposure.
I am very proud of how much my engagement has scaled in the past year and that the page went from posting mostly static images of food to a mix of static images, reels, and stories. I am also very proud of how I doubled my collaborations from the start of the brand in 2022 alone.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for my brand has been from PR firms reaching out to me to do collaborations via Instagram or my email attached @Goodeatonlyyy’s Instagram page.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I wish I had more food blogging friends in the beginning of my journey. I love brainstorming with other food bloggers and talking about market trends, new hot eats, and their business models.
