We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Avion Wallace. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Avion below.
Alright, Avion thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I’ve known that I had a creative gene all my life. My mother is creative and taught me the same skills growing up. I would say that along the way there were signs from God that told me to pursue my creative skills professionally. I slightly ignored them and stayed on my path to a career in communications. However, I was humbled when I discovered that my mother, my creative superwoman, had cancer. I left the current state I was residing in to be by her side and be her aid. In that same month of recovery and healing, I received messages from family and friends to assist them in an event. At that moment a light bulb went off. I like to say that was God finally turning the light on for me, on what he had for my life the entire time. To make these skills and talents my profession. After, my mother and I turned our creative skills into a professional path and gave birth to Naomi Lee Events.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into the industry just by doing it. You only hold yourself back if you don’t go out and just do it. I admire my peers in the industry and wanted to elevate my abilities in my craft. I sought out other creatives and collaborated with them to help me expand my vision and my business. In this industry, your team is one of your best assets.
We provide event design and planning services. We take the ideas of our clients and bring them to life. I came to learn that many don’t have those talents and so we are able to help our customers bring their vision to reality and execute beyond expectation. We handle all of the logistics when it comes to managing an entire team for an event. It’s a lot and can take a toll on people. We love it and are delighted to take that list of items off your plate.
What sets me apart is our creative skills. I’ve been told I’m great with colors and different in my vision. I want others to know the passion and fire that goes behind the scenes to make these memories great. I want the guest of honor and guests to feel the experiences and talk about them for a lifetime. That is the goal of our brand
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is and will always be seeing the vision come to life. It always puts me in awe. To think that something that started in your mind can come out to be so big and captivating is mind-blowing. It warms my heart every time.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The goal that drives my creative journey is to always be better and different from the last event. Always step outside the box and challenge yourself. Never become complacent in your creative skills just to get the job done but hone in on what makes you unique and why your clients come back to you.
