We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Avidant a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Avidant, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
I came up with “Avidant” after about 2 years of thinking of an alias to rebrand to. I was having the hardest time coming up with something since the brand before Avidant? I had gone by for 6-7 years. So, one night, a friend of mine contacts me saying he wants to play a game on PC called “Among Us.” And I agreed to play with him for the night. I thought to myself “Since I have to make a new account to play this game, I’m just going to auto-generate a name and the first thing that auto-populates? That’s going to be my new alias.”
When I clicked the button? “Avid-ant#” and some numbers popped up. I thought “There’s no way I’m going as ‘Avid-Ant’ for my new name.” And then I grabbed a notebook, wrote the name down without the “-“ and that’s when “Avidant” was born. It’s the best decision I ever made, honestly.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Ahh yes, introductions are in order. Hello! I am Avi, my stage name or “alias” is “Avidant” You can search “AvidantMusic” on any social media and I’ll show up! Or just “Avidant” works too!
I do a lot of things, I am a Musician, Dj, Producer, Sound Engineer, Sound Designer, Graphic Designer, Videographer, Photographer, and more. My main focus, However; is Music. I produce and perform Electronic Dance Music, more specifically, Drum and Bass, Half-Time, LeftField Bass, Dubstep, and more genre’s.
One day, I plan to work on all types of genre’s, From Electronic, to Country, and Rap/Hip-Hop, and even Classical. I want to work with Rock and Roll and Heavy Metal artists, Singer/Song writers, and other Musicians.
That’s what, in my opinion, sets me apart from other people in my field/genre scope. Everyone wants to do electronic music, which is great! Nothing wrong with that at all! I just personally don’t want the title “Dj/Producer” for Electronic Music. I want to be known as a “Musician.” Any and all music.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Just being there and getting out there, Honestly. People might get annoyed because they see your name and face all the time? But you can’t be friends with everyone (No matter how much you want to be, Lol.) What they don’t realize? Is that, even if they’re annoyed from seeing you so much? That’s the same reason that gets you booked for shows or known with other artists and gains more fans. You’re on peoples minds frequently, and that’s what people migrate to.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I watched a LOT of “In The Mix” on YouTube. I also have a lot of really smart and amazing friends that also have YouTube channels or provide classes that teach you how to get started and navigate the music industry. Talking to them and learning from them. You can learn so much just by listening to people. Even if they aren’t in your field. Just Listen. Learn. Soak in Information.
