We were lucky to catch up with Avery Jade recently and have shared our conversation below.
Avery , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Thank you so much! I’m happy to work with you guys again. One risk that I have taken is starting a photography business! It’s very difficult to start, especially in Utah county. Starting a business in a saturated market is definitely a risk! Nothing is certain, but in my eyes, pursuing my dream is worth it all.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For sure! I’m 22 years old and live in Utah county. After I had a traumatic brain injury in 2019, my whole world changed. Because of this, I wanted to do something I was passionate about. Photographing people, especially couples, is one of my favorite things to do!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
With all the health issues I have had since my brain injury, I have had to be resilient in many ways. One way is that I still struggle with chronic pain. This makes living much more difficult, including taking pictures. I refuse to quit my passion though, even if it is sometimes more difficult. Life is too short to not follow your dreams. #Avestrong
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Getting new clients requires patience and effort! There are different routes you can take to help. I have found a lot of success in reaching new clients through word of mouth and social media. All in all, having people share (and rave about) your business and work is the most important!
