We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ave Marcello. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ave below.
Ave , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I was told my first word was “music,” and from what I could remember, this has been all my life. I was born an artist and have had a deep appreciation for many bodies of work around me.
My name is Destiny Flores, and I became Ave María Marcello. Names are very powerful, and I learned to become both in my profession and personal life. Even though I have been performing/creating since I could walk and talk, when I gave myself my stage name is truly when I felt I took a professional step of coming into myself as an artist. I could now differentiate myself from my creation, although sometimes it was blurred, understanding this was more of what some of my great inspirations also did to muster up the courage to become an entity that exists within them but also outside of themselves. It was something I was ready to master and become a student of, so I decided to study a body of creative and artistic artworks. Still do this. This is why art is important, because it boldly makes a statement about lives and connections. With passion and knowledge from studying Digital Culture (Interdisciplinary Arts & Performance), this world expanded my horizons and truly shaped who I am creatively today.
I am the frontwoman of The Sintrics, a rock band from Phoenix, Arizona. Currently I live in New York, and I am working on a solo project exploring my life musically through an Alt Pop Gothic Queer Electro Soul album titled Destino.

Ave , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
At just three years-old, I was performing with my debut at the grand opening of our local home mall in Tempe, Arizona. My twin sister, Chasity, and I were an act that did philanthropic activities and raised money for charities. We sang at a variety of events, festivals, and benefits throughout the valley of Arizona.
Today, I am currently the frontwoman of The Sintrics; we have an EP titled Act I, out on all streaming platforms. I am also working on a solo project, Destino, which is a blend of grunge, ethereal ballads, alt-pop, and gothic queer dance music.
Through my raw and genuine passion for art and the culture around it, I just tell my story as a being who was destined for stardom.
I say this not only as a theater kid but, also as someone who was at five years old saying to people that we’re allergic to the paparazzi. I was absolutely born this way!!!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
From the moment I saw James and the giant peach, three-year-old me set out a plan that twenty-nine-year-old me would then embark on!
Currently I live in New York after a lifelong dream of saying I would make it my home.
Even though I am from Phoenix, Arizona, New York always had a part of me.
Something was calling me this time. I was ready, and the road to get here was not pretty, but I made it… I finally made it!
I am a creative, and my journey has been built on such faith and resilience. Because if one day you get the full story, then I hope you discover it all through my art. That would be the true testimony to my resilience.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is realizing that you have a platform to express and start conversations. Sometimes, it’s self-expression, but that can lead to empowering others. Other times, you may start a conversation or provoke people into thinking differently. Once exposed or experienced, a conversation can be had on the observation, and some of those conversations are the most feelings I have heard from anyone. This is why creatives and artists have fundamental changes in my experience in life and how I view my own personal perspective. Then I found a medium and became an artist/creative too by tapping into what I was a product of already.
