We were lucky to catch up with Avalon Gomez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Avalon , thanks for joining us today. How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
Due to the nature of my business , sometimes taking vacation seems impossible . So for the last 3 years I have been turning my work trips into work-cations . I always try to include a few days after job completion to relax , unwind and enjoy the space I am in.
It’s my goal in 2024 to just PAUSE more and take more time for myself and my family.
My advice to other entrepreneurs who feel like they cannot step away from their business is : JUST DO IT … STOP telling yourself that you do not have the time or you cannot make the time.
Plan time for yourself , it does not have to be out of the country , try a stay cation , but take time for yourself.
Even on your daily or weekly t0-do lists , make sure to pencil in time for yourself .
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategies for growing my clientele has been : – Providing exceptional service
– Building relationships
– Being Social on Social Media
My business have grown from mainly referrals and these are the top 3 that have really helped me grow thus far.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
This one book changed my life : The Bible .
I am really old school , so therefor no matter how many apps they create for organization , I am a NOTEBOOK girlie , I write everything down . I have 5 active notebooks at any period and they all serve a purpose. I believe once I write something down , I will always remember it .
In closing , I want to encourage other female entrepreneurs to be BOLD in their pursuits , there is no limit to what we as women can achieve.
