Autumn , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Whether Risky or Risqué, I have always been one to take them. It is extremely difficult to be a business owner and get your business off the ground. It take patience but most importantly risk that make you take that leap of faith. I wanted to launch a brand that allowed me to empower women the way I empower myself which is through lingerie. It couldn’t just be any lingerie brand, it needed to have passion and purpose, I took many risks during the time of House of BEREs creation. Going back to school which working a full time job and being a mother. When you check the odds against me it doesn’t show to work in my favor but I was still persistent and passionate about the House of BERE brand. Becoming a businesses owner was the risk that allowed me to begin not only my want to give women a sexual freedom safe haven but also in purpose.

House of BERE was created as a lingerie brand that embraces the art of the body through artistic visuals, expressions and experiences. Specifically focusing on sexual freedom, giving women globally a voice, and empowering community of women that advocates to influence younger generations of sexual health, expression and confidence.
The most important aspect that sets House of BERE different from others is not telling others stories but giving them the platform to tell it themselves. We never want to misconstrue someone else’s story and would rather get it straight from the source ourselves.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Networking. Your social media platforms will get you far, but making sure you are speaking about your brand and going to events that allow you to meet new people and potential clients. Being able to give a short summary of your brand and its impact to someone can put you and the brand in rooms that you couldn’t imagine.
Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
House of BERE is sold on the Shopify Platform which is a reliable platform for businesses as it not only allows you to edit your website to your brand guidelines but has links that help you every step of the way. Website building is very difficult , unless you have a specialist building it then platforms such as Shopify are great for starters!
