Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Autumn Tall. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Autumn, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success is a multifaceted concept, but a crucial aspect often overlooked is simply not being an asshole. In my experience as an event planner, working harmoniously with clients and vendors is paramount. Being respectful, communicative, and empathetic creates an environment where collaboration flourishes, leading to exceptional outcomes. Moreover, word spreads fast in the industry, and reputations are built on how we treat others. Nobody wants to work with someone difficult or disrespectful. I recall a time when a colleague’s abrasive demeanor tarnished their reputation, resulting in missed opportunities and strained relationships. Conversely, those known for their professionalism and kindness attract new opportunities effortlessly. Success isn’t just about bottom lines and accolades; it’s about fostering positive relationships and leaving a lasting impression. So, while strategies and skills are vital, never underestimate the power of being a decent human being. After all, kindness and collaboration are the cornerstones of a thriving career.

Autumn, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hey there, I’m Autumn, the creative force behind Fall In Love Events, a leading wedding planning and event management company dedicated to crafting unforgettable experiences since 2018. But my journey into the world of events started long before that.
Back in 2003, I cut my teeth in the industry organizing fundraising events, honing my skills in creating memorable experiences that leave a lasting impact. Fast forward to 2013, when I made the move to Charlevoix and serendipitously stumbled upon a job at a local gem, Castle Farms. It was here that my love affair with weddings truly began.
With each wedding I witnessed at Castle Farms, I was captivated by the love stories unfolding before my eyes. In 2018, I made the decision to launch Fall In Love Events, driven by my desire to forge deeper connections with couples and immerse myself in the creative design process, my true passion.
At Fall In Love Events, we don’t just offer “day of coordination” because I firmly believe that such a concept doesn’t truly exist. Instead, we specialize in curating bespoke experiences that authentically reflect each client’s story. Fall In Love Events is all about capturing the essence of our clients and translating it into a one-of-a-kind event that leaves a lasting impression.
Reflecting on my proudest achievements, it’s difficult to pinpoint just one. From making a name for myself on the national level to being a part of countless intimate moments, whether with wedding couples, corporate clients, or fundraising events, I am humbled by the incredible people I’ve had the privilege to work with and the extraordinary events I’ve been a part of along the way. Each experience has shaped me and reinforced my passion for creating unforgettable moments that celebrate love, creativity, and connection.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
This year has been a testament to resilience, and I’ve certainly had my fair share of challenges. One particular moment stands out—a pivotal point that tested my determination and resourcefulness.
At the end of January, I faced a significant setback. The company I was working with decided to downsize, leaving me with the largest gap in my calendar I’d ever seen. It was a tough blow, but I refused to let it define me.
With determination and grit, I dusted myself off and dove headfirst into marketing my business. I explored every avenue, reaching out to potential clients and networking relentlessly. But I didn’t stop there. Recognizing the power of collaboration, I reached out to several other planners in the area to offer my assistance. It was a bold move, but one that paid off immensely.
Before long, I found myself back in the game, filling my calendar with new clients and dates, thanks to the support of my amazing network. It was a reminder of the importance of cultivating relationships and the resilience that comes from facing adversity head-on.
Through it all, I remained steadfast in my belief that perseverance and the strength of my connections would see me through. And I was right. This experience only reinforced my resolve and deepened my appreciation for the incredible community that surrounds me.

How did you build your audience on social media?
When I first ventured into the world of social media, I approached it with a clear vision and unwavering dedication. I knew that in order to stand out in a crowded digital landscape, I needed to offer something truly valuable and engaging to my audience.
One of the first steps I took was defining my brand identity and voice. I wanted my presence on social media to reflect the same warmth, creativity, and professionalism that defines my business. Consistency was key—I made sure that every post, comment, and interaction aligned with my brand values and resonated with my target audience.
But building an audience isn’t just about broadcasting your message—it’s about fostering meaningful connections and engaging with your community. I made it a priority to listen to my audience, respond to their questions and feedback, and actively participate in conversations within my niche.
Another crucial aspect of growing my social media presence was creating compelling content that resonated with my audience. Whether it was sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of my events, offering expert tips and advice, or showcasing stunning visuals that showcased my work, I always strived to provide value and inspiration to my followers.
Of course, building a social media following doesn’t happen overnight—it requires patience, persistence, and a willingness to adapt and evolve. Along the way, I experimented with different strategies, analyzed what worked and what didn’t, and refined my approach accordingly.
My advice to those just starting to build their social media presence? Stay true to your brand, engage authentically with your audience, and consistently deliver valuable content. Don’t be afraid to experiment, learn from your experiences, and always keep your audience at the forefront of everything you do. With dedication and perseverance, you’ll build a loyal and engaged following that will support you every step of the way.
