Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Autumn Martino. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Autumn, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
As a kid, I covered my mom’s pristine white hallway walls with crayon scribbles. When my grandma saw it, she warned, “Your mom is going to kill you.” I was terrified, bracing for the worst. But when my mom came home, she surprised me—she didn’t get angry. Instead, she told me how beautiful my drawing was. That moment sparked my love for creating, and I’ve been pursuing it ever since. Through every high and low, my mom has stood by me, encouraging my passion every step of the way. Her reaction that day taught me that creativity deserves love and support, a lesson that shaped my journey as an artist.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Autumn Martino, and I’ve been passionate about painting for as long as I can remember. I began my professional journey in 2012, selling my artwork to a growing audience. In 2021, I expanded into mural painting, creating large-scale works throughout the Coachella Valley.
I specialize in painting figures, faces, and landscapes, and I take pride in my ability to closely replicate the images clients provide, ensuring their vision comes to life with precision and artistry.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being an artist is the sense of accomplishment that comes from completing a piece—whether it’s a painting, a mural, or any other project. Along the way, you often encounter challenges and obstacles, but overcoming them is incredibly fulfilling. Each hurdle you tackle not only brings you closer to finishing the work but also leaves you with a profound sense of confidence, reminding you that you’re capable of achieving anything.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Today’s society is more supportive of the creative community than ever before. We’re constantly being given opportunities to showcase our talents—whether through murals, graphic arts, or paintings. I’ve never seen a time when artists have been as supported as they are now. Opportunities are everywhere, and it’s up to us to seize them.
