We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Autumn Knight. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Autumn below.
Hi Autumn, thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I’ve always had a passion for music, performing, singing, songwriting, playing piano… pretty much all the things in the performing arts. As a young child I started to perform on stage starring in musical theatre productions. When I was 13 I started to write my own original music playing the piano and singing. Shortly after I started recording in the studio. During that time I realized quickly that I wanted to pursue the artist path. Along with my love for performing live & singing, I knew I always wanted to make rad music.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m originally from Southern California. I grew up in LA & San Diego. I started to record my own original music in middle school. I had this immense love for putting lyrics together & singing with melody. Most times I would start with a piano hook and then that would inspire the mood for the song + lyrics. I started recording in the studio. My first original song ‘Don’t Ask Why’ got me a partial scholarship for my first year at Berklee College of Music in Boston. I studied Professional Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance & Songwriting. After graduating, I moved back to Los Angeles and focused on my artist career. I headlined the House of Blues on Sunset Blvd along with performances at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood while working hard on my original music. About 8 years ago we moved to Music City Nashville, TN. I co-wrote & recorded my Electro- Pop album “Here and Now” After the release I was honored to headline the iconic Troubadour in West Hollywood.
I would say the thing I’m most proud of is the ability to release & perform heart centered music that impacts the listener & the world in a positive way. Music is a vibration and we all have the ability to impact the world with our energy. I choose to do it with my voice and the power of music.
I’m releasing new music this summer along with some fun surprises.
We are excited to be playing shows & touring.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Both of my parents passed in my 20’s 3 years apart from one another. It was a lot to process at a young age. I tapped into a strength I didn’t even know I had & continued to move forward with resilience. I honor them every day and they would want me to share my music with the world and make a difference. I’m lucky that I have music as a form of expression and creative outlet. I miss my parents dearly & wish they were here with me physically but I know they are my guardian angels forever. All of this has made me the woman & artist that I am.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The ability to connect with people all across the world. Music has the power to heal and change lives. I’m so happy that people vibe with the music and it makes them feel good. This isn’t about me. It’s about how I can give back to the world.
