We recently connected with Autumn June and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Autumn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?

Do I wish I’d started my musical career sooner? Yes and no. I would have loved to have been doing this sooner because it is my passion, but I wouldn’t be who I am without the other experiences prior. I think at times that makes me appreciate what I’m doing even more. I’m currently playing from Pinellas County up to New Port Richey at Restaurants, Wineries, Breweries, Weddings, Corporate Events and House Concerts. I provide music on every level. I think what sets me apart and what I’d like others to know about me is that I have a heart for others, for people. I think what I’m most proud of is my determination and drive to never quit and to press on through life’s many challenges. I beat to my own drum and I don’t listen to naysayers.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Autumn June I’m a local singer- songwriter performing for the past 8 years along Pinellas County’s beaches and throughout the County. I also perform in my hometown Old Orchard Beach Maine in the Summers. In 2013 I began to attend open jams in the surrounding area particularly at The Daiquiri Shack with Mad Beach Mafia and the highly respected John Spinelli with Spinelli Drums. At that time I was in my final internship at St Pete College for elementary education and to be honest for a reason unknown to me had never seriously considered playing music for a living. However that all soon changed with the encouragement from John as well as my family to pursue my passion. In the beginning of 2014 started playing solo gigs and have never looked back since. Do I wish I’d started my musical career sooner? Yes and no. I provide music on every level, joy and hopefully smiles to those who otherwise wouldn’t have. I think what sets me apart from others is my heart and I think what I’m most proud of is my determination to never quit and to press on through lives many challenges. What I would like people to know about me is that I do in fact have a heart for people and I want to be a light and all that I do but especially in and through my music.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

For me the most rewarding part of being an artist is being able to be transparent and be myself through my songs and performances. Being able to connect with others no matter where they’re from, how old they are and on various levels. Being my own boss has brought me to a place that I could only dream about years 8 years ago. Although it is hard at times, like anything worth doing is, I wouldn’t rather be doing anything else and feel grateful and blessed every single day that I get to perform for a living and make people happy. If I can sing a song that brings a broken-hearted or struggling person to a place of peace and of joy, if ai can take someone back to a memory or certain place or time, that is what I find most rewarding. It allows me the freedom and time to write and to pursue my dreams and it allows me more time to spend with my family and friends. You can always make more money but you can’t make more time. It’s the most precious of commodities. All of this combined is why I live my life daily with an attitude of gratitude.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My mission is to bring others joy and happiness and my driving force is Jesus Christ. If I can speak a kind word to someone, or bring a smile to their face when they wouldn’t have otherwise had smiled then I’ve accomplished my true mission. I hope to show love, to give grace and to be a light in all that I do, but especially in and through my music.
