I hope my legacy will be So.Fvshionable, a company I started with no funds or opportunities. A company I spent years dreaming about and built brick by brick. So.Fvshionable will be passed down from generation to generation within my family. I want my legacy to show that anything is possible with faith and hard work.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

So.Fvshionable is a fashion retailer on a mission to reimagine shopping with occasions by providing customers with a style-curated experience. We created our occasion-based shopping process to help you intentionally shop for every moment of your life. Say goodbye to the traditional shopping method of “tops” and “bottoms” and say hello to a more innovative shopping method through occasions like “work” and “vacation.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

I started So.Fvshionable with the 250 dollars my dad gave me to make my first set of t-shirts. The t-shirts were not sellable because of the bad quality, but they helped me realize I could start a business. I took 500 dollars, remade those t-shirts, and sold them to everyone on my college campus. Although that was a small amount of capital, it was the initial push I needed to start the business

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

A lesson I had to unlearn while running So.Fvshionable was not to take everything so personally. Whether that is a “no” for partnerships, critiques of my business, or even missteps while running a business, I have learned not to take everything to heart. You need tough skin while running a business; you must be head and heart strong.
