Taiese L., looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The story behind my mission “Speaking and Writing to Teach, Inspire and Empower people to move into their God-Ordained destinies” as Author Taiese L. Nevels began with my passion to observe and share the wisdom and knowledge I have learned with others as a my legacy. I have a passion to help people find their purpose and balance in life. If a person does not know what their purpose is it is impossible to find balance. An individual has to know the reason of their existence – “Their Why.”. In my life, I have always had an idea of my why so, I am convicted by the notion to coach and teach others to find theirs. I was certain of my purpose to guide others into finding joy through purpose since I was extremely young. My fondest memory was being 4 or 5 understanding I could help because I use to have a desk in the kitchen with my mother while she cooked and I would pretend to take phone calls on an old light blue rotary phone. The calls would consist of giving guidance and managing how others did their jobs or managed their lives..
The older I got the more mature I became and the gift/calling to help honed in. I am a natural over-achiever, therefore, I challenge myself to push further through sheer tenacity. I write books because there is so much wisdom, knowledge and power to share. I speak to encourage others there is more than mediocrity – life is to be lived to the fullest. I teach my methodology of how to find your purpose, write a book or get things done by the small strategic tasks that tally up to monumental achievements. I inspire through my positive attitude and bright outlook on the future being filled with infinite possibilities. I empower by challenging individuals to dream bigger than where they are today – what could your tomorrow look like if you pushed harder? I mentor and coach due to the love I have for humanity to achieve their highest potential through stepping out of the comfort zone. My legacy will be known as the woman who radiated sunshine that inspired others to become their purpose, write books, step into their destinies and find true balance in life.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a Houston based entrepreneur and Lean Six SIgma Continuous Improvement professional. Over the last decade, I have written and co-authored 7 books across the following genres: Spiritual inspiration, Self-Help and Fiction. Writing is my passion and has been for over 37 years. Sharing lessons or life improving philosophies I’ve learned then creating literary art to express the beauty in life despite the adversities life presents to you. My passion for self improvement/purpose either by way of personal, spiritual or career life is carefully weaved into my life.
Over the last couple years, I have partnered with a few authors:
1. I am also a co-host on The Fights Within Radio Show and The Fights Within: In Da Streets Live Podcast with Manuela Obas. Our first book collaboration was in 2021 “Dear Woman” and it featured 8 other authors. The launch of the book was aligned with the annual Dear Woman luncheon – the second Annual Dear Woman Luncheon was hosted on July 30, 2022 in Katy, Texas. Manuela and I are publishing “Healing the Woman Within” book in November 2022. This book was inspired by our “Healing the Woman Within 5-Part Series” podcast featured during Women’s Month in March 2022.
2. I recently completed a book project and launch with Pastor Cathy Thomas Hrynko and the Women of Royalty Outreach Ministries “The Road to Royalty” book. The book signing and launch for “The Road to Royalty” was Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Cleveland, Ohio. I co-authored and managed the book project schedule including book cover, editing, layout, publishing, printing and launch within 75 days. “The Road to Royalty” had 15 co-authors outside of Cathy and I across 5 states.
3. Another recent book collaboration I am a part of as a co-author with author Devan Adams, MBA in 2021, we published “The Career Hamster Wheel: Are you chasing career success or career happiness?”. “The Career Hamster Wheel” officially launched in Cleveland, Ohio during All-Star Weekend, February 2022. Devan and I, participated in the North Coast Indie Book Fair in Elyria, Ohio.
I offer a tangible and realistic ways to build legacies via identifying an individuals purpose by motivational inspiration and empowerment to write, publish and launch a book within a 90-Day span. Let’s work together to build your Legacy.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My ultimate mission is to help people have a balanced life outside of the corporate work sphere and career hamster wheel. All your life cannot be just simple the 9 to 5 – a productive person has to have spiritual and personal fulfillment or joy. We are not 1-dimensional, there are many angles to what makes us unique individuals. Our experiences all vary with our individuality therefore, we have to create space for ourselves to be a multi-dimensional person. Some of us are not just employees yet artists with an entrepreneurial spirit – we are parents, siblings, grandparents, friends, cousins, husbands, wives and even someone’s child. Hence the importance of knowing thine purpose and knitting it into our active daily lives. Joy is enveloping like a sphere so, I encourage everyone to be multi-dimensional to experience it.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is seeing my expertise to guide and coach a person to their goal of success i.e. publishing a book and their excitement during the day of the launch. It is the daily maturity and growth of the person as they journey through writing a book or working on improving their skill set like assertiveness/accountability to get things done. On the other end of the path is satisfaction that is immeasurable.
