We were lucky to catch up with AUSTIN BARTZ recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, AUSTIN thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
We first started snow sculptures when we had a snow day & had no school. Staying inside was no option for us, as we loved being outside. We had caught a puffer fish in Florida a few weeks before so we thought, lets try to build a puffer fish out of snow…. & the rest was history! We have now been building snow sculptures for 10 years

AUSTIN, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We got in to our industry just by our love for the outdoors. We were never good art students in school but we always worked hard & had a drive to build and create. Our full time job is landscaping & construction, but snow sculpting is our winter hobby. We are set apart due to being the only snow sculptors that add almost all of the snow on instead of carving from a block. This allows the sculptures to last a lot longer, and be much more weather resistant.
We are proud of our work and attention to detail, we love making an experience and not just a snow sculpture.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Our goal is to raise money for clean water in different countries. From clean snow to clean water.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
We build our audience by building a brand, our audience felt like they were apart of the story. Our audience felt like they knew us personally.
