Auretha , appreciate you joining us today. Alright, let’s jump into one of the most exciting parts of starting a new venture – how did you get your first client who was not a friend or family?
I was stationed inside a Nordstrom for a special events day. I was at a table and an attractive, fit woman came up to me and solidly landed her hands on the table. She said, “Can you help me get ready for a hot date tonight? I’m a teacher and a fitness instructor and I have NO IDEA how to dress for a date and I need to be ready in 4 hours! ”
I said, “Of COURSE I can help you! Follow me!” (I also gave her a quote for an hourly rate and off we went!) I led her to sections of the store with dating style clothing, pulled a few pieces for her to try, and stood outside patiently. I noticed after a few minutes that it was VERY, VERY QUIET in her dressing room. I knocked and said, “Julie, are you okay?” She opened the door and said almost tearfully, “I’m sorry. I’ve just never seen myself look like this. I look amazing…and sexy. And I NEVER would have tried these pieces on.”
She left with a few outfits she loved and a completely new view of herself.
She left me a review that said, ” Auretha helped me find more gorgeous clothing in a few hours than I’ve ever found in my entire life! I will be eternally grateful.”

**Meet Auretha: The Psychic Stylist™ Empowering Women from the Inside Out**
Hello! I’m Auretha, known as *The Psychic Stylist™* — a holistic professional stylist, soul coach, and image therapist for women who are ready to be seen for their brilliance, expressed in an authentic way I call “Soul Style.” My mission is to help women look and feel truly confident and at ease in their current body and lifestyle by aligning their outer image with their inner essence.
### How I Got Into This Work
My journey didn’t begin with fashion — it began with a conversation over the makeup counter. I’ve always had artistic and spiritual gifts. I’d been praying for a way to bring together my artistry, intuitive healing, encouragement, and love for color and design into meaningful work I could do on my own terms.
At the time, I was a traveling makeup artist for Lancôme. One day, a woman sat in my chair, ready to buy a heap of expensive cosmetics that I sensed she wouldn’t end up using. She seemed discouraged, and I did my best to uplift her spirit. Then she looked me straight in the eye and said, “I’m turning into my mother and I don’t know what to do about it. Can you come home with me and help me?”
In that moment, my prayer was answered. I knew exactly what to do. I began meeting with women in their wardrobes and beauty closets, helping them rediscover a way to feel beautiful, elegant, and like the best version of themselves.
Since 2004, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients and eventually integrated emotional healing and mindset tools into my work, drawing on my studies with the Hendricks Institute. Over time, I saw clearly that women — even those who were highly accomplished or conventionally attractive — were grappling with more than clothing choices. They were dealing with visibility blocks, self-doubt, and old beliefs that kept them from fully showing up.
So I brought all my tools together.
I began combining intuitive insight and coaching with personal styling. I didn’t just help women shop — I helped them reconnect with themselves. I guided them in releasing layers of shame, fear, and old stories, and supported them in building a style that truly reflects who they are today.

Some feel stuck in styles that no longer fit who they are. Others have never had a role model or guidance in how to dress in a way that reflects their soul. There may be fears around being seen, or stories from the past that still linger. I often act as a Style Big Sister—a gentle, affirming guide and Confidence Cheerleader.

With my intuitive background and experience in healing work, every session is grounded in care and clarity. For me, style isn’t surface. It’s soulful.

And I’ve been on that journey, too. I’ve faced visibility challenges, body changes, and the ongoing evolution of midlife. I bring all of that lived experience into every session, with honesty, empathy, and joy.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
For me, I think the next evolution of mankind is about women stepping into their full potential in power. The work I do helps women recover from toxic masculinity, patriarchy, family and identity trauma and all kinds of hiding and playing small. I have seen that as I help women heal their identity on a deep level and give them the tools to express themselves authentically, they are then free to show up without hindrance on the world stage and be about their Soul Purpose….not fooling around with shopping or trend nonsense. Great women have better things to do that struggle with dressing every day.

I was just getting executive and corporate clients in 2008 when the crash happened. Same thing during Covid. Each time my styling business slammed to a near-halt, I had to keep asking myself, “Is this really worthy of my life’s work? Do I really want to do this?” I’ve also had about 5 clients that had serious mental health challenges that caused me to doubt my ability to deal with projection and boundaries. I’ve found my pyschic coaching work to be more consistent in any economy, but I’m even more fulfilled when I get to use my artistic and styling gifts as well because my Venusian need to create beauty is a lifelong calling.
