We were lucky to catch up with Aureo Luis Meireles recently and have shared our conversation below.

Aureo luis, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?

When I started performing like an dragqueen I was In Salt Lake City in 2013. I was 45 years old, I think if I had started sooner I would’ve more chance that today have more success. And having more opportunities

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I really love what I do like dragqueen my inspiration come from of women, I think the feminine is something that gives me inspiration to create my show. I perform in different places like, night club, particular party. Events. But my clients that I prefer are the particular party because is a type of public that is not a public of the night so for than the dragqueen perform it is something new and u feel very happy to introduce the art of dragqueen for them.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I am still building my audience in my social media, when I started performing like an dragqueen I knew having an social media would halp me a lot, so I try do my best in my platform showing videos of good quality and creative to my followers. The social media help to improve my career.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

For a dragqueen in the beginning is not easy and with me this was not different , I had a lot of difficulty to introduce myself because I had not good contact, but I didn’t give up of my dreams. In that time I was living in Salt Lake City so I decided to move to Las Vegas there I knew that my chances would be better, so step by step I started talking with right people and finally I did my first show and after that everything changed. The must importante is not give up.
