Hi Aunveer , thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Starting off with defining “What is Electrolysis?” it is by far the only FDA approved process for permanent hair removal. We take a small probe which is the size of the hair and go into the hair follicle which then passes through an electrical current to destroy the hair follicle. Unwanted hair has been an issue which dates back to centuries, during these times people have gotten creative with methods of hair removal. Electrolysis has been around for over a 100 years. Yes, one hundred years. It was first created to treat in-grown hairs within the eyelash area, it eventually was figured that this can result in permanent hair removal. However, due to the advance technology in our time Electrolysis is extremely over looked due to the time and cost it takes per session. My mission is to educate my clients and to whom ever is listening that in the long run Electrolysis IS the only permanent hair removal method.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Aunveer Sooch – Bath, I live in Chestermere, Alberta. I am a certified electrologist and have been practicing for the past 2 plus years. I have my small home-based business, which I have been working towards and couldn’t be more proud of it. AKS Electrolysis also offers other services such as thermocoagulation (removing skin impurities) and facials. I personally have done electrolysis because I was suffering from unwanted hair for a very long time, based on a recomendation from a trusted person it was the best decision ever! I fell in love with the process, not only is it permanent, it is oddly satisfying to remove hair one at a time. I wanted to know more, I wanted to learn how to do it myself and make a difference.

I always believe in educating my clients on what exactly electrolysis is because it is often over-looked and people tend to turn to more faster and cost effective methods, in most cases anything besides electrolysis is not permanent. There are so many people/women out there who suffer from PCOS, hirsutism, medication, and so on, these kinds of conditions cause excessive hair growth and it can be uncomfortable. My job is to educate, bring comfort, and educate my clients to bringing back their confidence. I have treated many clients with PCOS – this process is long but well worth the wait. I love what I do!

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The best source for new clients would be number one: social media and number two: mouth of word. Electrolysis is hard to explain unless you have an idea of it, it is often misunderstood so it has been a key factor in my social media posts to keep on educating. It sure takes a huge chunk of your time to create content but in my opinion it helps with spreading the awareness. I still have a lot to learn, and trends are always changing, so I am constantly learning new things myself. Mouth of word clients have also been fantastic because coming into my studio, they already have an idea on what to expect. My next goal is to put myself out there and bring in more clientele as I am somewhat of a shy person.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I have a 13-year old brother who is on the spectrum (autism). His diagnosis has been a life changing event for my family and I. At a really young age, I knew I had to always be there for my family and especially for him. Starting AKS Electrolysis, it has helped me shape my business and who I am today because of him. I am happy to be a proud business owner as as well as a big sister to my brother. Having your own business gives me the power to make time for my brother for various reasons in which a regular job would not. I have learned many lessons along the way with setting up my business but my family has been my number one supporters in this. Without them, I wouldn’t be who I am today. I will keep on working harder, and getting better at what I do every single day.
