Augusto, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
To begin with I would like to tell you about what we do today: We help influencers, like athletes, content creators, and celebrities, as well as companies, to create and promote travel experiences with their communities. We organize unforgettable trips led by unique hosts, offering lessons and experiences that last a lifetime. Imagine surfing in Morocco with a pro athlete and a group of like-minded people, or skiing Japan’s best snow for a week with a famous ski champion. Accessing these experiences with your favourite host is easy now.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Initial Model: We started as a Surf Retreats provider, and then shifted to an Influencers Travel Platform. The idea of Blueroad’s transition from a B2C to a B2B2C business model likely evolved through a series of strategic considerations and market insights. Here’s a plausible scenario for how this transition may have occurred:
Market Research and Feedback: As the company operated in the B2C space, we gathered feedback from more than 200 travellers and 50 influencers within the space and we identified an uncovered pain point.
Blueroad found two main problems:
Most influencers (90%) don’t earn enough to live on, and they usually start to improve their lifestyle.
Travellers already follow their favourite creators on social media, showing they like their content. Blueroad also found that having a travel expert adds value for customers. People want to learn and grow while travelling. By teaming up with creators, we can give people a fun and educational experience with their favourite hosts. something they will be proud of sharing with their friends and will enrich their lives.
Shifting Focus to Influencers: Recognizing these pain points, Blueroad has decided to pivot towards a B2B model. By providing a solution that simplifies the process of creating, organizing, and promoting diverse travel experiences for influencers with their followers.
Benefits for Influencers: Blueroad makes it easy for the creator to launch a custom trip based on their audience insights. This brings almost 0 friction for them to get started. This helps them grow their brand, connect meaningfully with their audience, travel around the world, and add a new revenue stream.
Value Proposition: Blueroad’s value proposition to influencers includes time and cost savings, access to diverse worldwide trips offerings, and the ability to easily promote custom experiences for their followers.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
We started with an idea and a passion for entrepreneurship and travel. Blueroad was a bootstrap company from day one. The founders had alternate jobs throughout the first year of operations until we could pay ourselves a salary to sustain ourselves and go all-in. Being bootstrap teaches us to be super efficient, move fast, and focus on what matters: the customer and sales. We always dreamed of being a global company, offering experiences in the best places in the world. We see a huge opportunity in the creator economy, and today we are seeking investors aligned with our model who can help us scale with their expertise and through technology.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
As an entrepreneur, one often desires immediate and grandiose success. However, the reality is that building authority and reputation takes time.
